We’ve played well. I’m just glad we have been in their faces - whatever happens. An early second half goal is huge. Get the shooting boots on lads. Another 45 like that and there’s a good chance we can do it.

Both Milner and Gini had decent halves. No reason to change things. Keep playing the way we are and I expect us to score pretty early. Then maybe bring on Jota for the winner.

Look very good, creating some good chances, but the finishing has let us down today. Should be in front with atleast a goal, but its looks a bit like last year were we dominated but just could not get the goals we deserved. But in that game we scored early (iirc) but never managed to put Atletico to the sword, but hopefully we have saved the best for the coming half today and can get a 2-0 victory.

Just the goals are missing. Lads are doing great and need to keep it up. I expect we give this team till around 55-60 mins before getting Jota on - no idea for whom. Imagine Milly will be replaced at some point, for no other reason that fresh legs. If we're still needing goals, kitchen sink options will come in Shaqiri at 75.

Can only echo what most others have said, the only complaint can be no goals. Other than that we've been excellent, to a man. Full house tonight and the tie would already over, I genuinely think we'd be winning 4-0. Madrid look leggy, they've played us, Barca and now us again in 8 days, the time is now to put them to the sword. I think if we come out with the same intensity and grab an early goal we'll score 3.

Philips has shown a lot of confidence playing progressive balls out of defence to help form our attacks. It's such a huge part of the game to help break any sort of press when the other team has to turn around and go the opposite way to defend

That was basically an open goal that first Mo chance. On his left foot Courtois was dead in the middle of the goal and Salah had an easy slot to both sides. It was like a back pass. Gini's was bad as well. Great performance and its amusing to hear tactical experts on the pre game thread still dont understand after nearly 6 years under Klopp what our midfield's role is. The most important thing is trust and Fab, Gini, Hendo and Milner are the only ones who have it because they understand tactically what the team needs and Klopp wants. Thiago and Curtis Jones are getting there and Keita has never had it and Ox hasnt had it since the injury. Sadio has done well and Mo apart from is finishing has looked dangerous.
