Wonder if Frankie will retire if she wins. He’s done it all and Gosden hasn’t got any superstars for next year it seems

Waldgeist spoiled the party. He’s a proper horse to be fair, great form in good races.

Looks like the testing going took it's toll.
It might take our producers five minutes to find 60 economists who feared Brexit and five hours to find a sole voice who espoused it.

Yep, don’t think she minds it soft but perhaps more testing than that and she’s just been vulnerable at the death.

Yeah, very rare to see a finish with so many horses spread out so far, can only happen in testing ground.

Any early shouts for Cheltenham?

I’m looking at some kind of long range Acca/Yankee involving

Malone Road - Supreme
Klassical Dream - Champion Hurdle
Champ - RSA
Le Richebourg - QM
Santini - GC

Not the most original selections but should all have decent chances if they get there

Another star bumper horse for Gordon Elliot, Andy Dufresne, had a small ante post bet on him at 33's before his bumper today. He's now as short as 12/1 and I can only see it getting shorter.
Hope you Kept the faith, looks a good’un based on today’s run. Elliott got some excellent novice hurdlers this season. You’d think Ballymore for this one but with so many to play with difficult to know exactly how he’ll split them all

I have but as you said its hard to know how he'll split them so I've had a few small bets on the 3 novice hurdles. Will step it up when things become a bit clearer hopefully.

Douvan might have been getting 5lbs from all but to comeback like that after not racing for over 550 days shows he’s still special. Monalee is a good yard stick and got a 17 length shoeing. If he stays sound he’s still going to take a world of beating.

Good to see Douvan back. As you say was a very good performance, hadn’t realised he was getting 5lb though. Not convinced Monalee ran his race as Jett although decent shouldn’t have been between them.
Shattered Love also impressive in the race after although didn’t need to be to beat her rivals

Tough to get a true handle on form at this time of the season because some trainers have their horses more wound up than others. My assumption is Monalee is going to come on quite a bit for the run but Mullins said he’d not pressed any buttons at all with Douvan so to see him do that made me happy. Not sure what they’re going to do with him because Ricci has Chacun Pour Soi who probably wants a similar trip to Douvan. 2m 4f today though, so options.

As you say, was great the way he came away at the end, was a class apart before his original injury. If he can get back to anything like that level then definitely could be a force still. Didn’t realise he’s still only 9 so has a few years on Faugheen who’s supposed to be going chasing now.

GRAND COUREUR  Southwell 12-50

Oliver Greenhall's bottom weight GRAND COUREUR is a 7yr old bay gelding who had his breakthrough winner at Bangor at the start of October at just over 2m4f on Soft going after 23 runs. He then found 26 days ago the progressive favourite Heavenly Promise too good for him over slightly longer at Sedgefield but the latter has won again since and the third was narrowly beaten next time as well so that form looks good. Tomorrow he gets his winning distance and ground again with Paddy Brennan taking over from 3lb claimer and he looks a good bet to double his tally with me having him a 6/4 shot..

James Ewart's 9yr old bay gelding ARISTO DU PLESSIS has become well treated off today's 123 mark and looks suited by today's Soft conditions, he is a winner of 10 races from 36 runs and is a triple CD winner off higher marks with the best off 145 and the latest here at Wetherby off 132 last December over today's distance and ground.
That latest success was for today's jockey Lucy Alexander when he gave 3lbs to today's favourite Cornerstone Lad who has been off for 224 days and now my fancy finds himself 22lbs better off with him.

ARISTO DU PLESSIS was the second one well backed this time 9/2 into 5/2 but he ran out of steam at the business end, it's funny how you become more confident when there is money for your horse and the opposite when they drift but the stats say drifters win as much as steamers. Maybe you remember the steamers more for some reason.

KINGSWELL THEATRE  1-15 Cheltenham   5/1   BOG

Michael Scudamore's 10yr old bay gelding is a winner of two hurdle races and four chases from 2m 5f to 3m 7f on ground varying from good to heavy but last win was over two years ago in this race on Good ground. Returned after 182 days off in October after another wind operation and finished 12l behind The Caller.

He looks like he has been lined up for this again and is better off at the weights with today's 11yr old favourite who finished third that day, he has seen little racing since then and missed 2018 and undergone two wind operations since winning this two years ago off 1lb lower, he was about 18l behind today's favourite Urgent De Gregaine at the Festival in March but has now a 10lb pull with that rival and should strip fitter for his run in the Durham National. The trainers younger brother and the last time out winning jockey Tom Scudamore also returns to the plate.

Another one of my fancies well backed, 2/1 into 5/4..

Alan Jones's DUNHALLOW LAD has been very lightly raced since winning on his chase debut over CD on today's heavy going in March 2018 when beating today's main rival Le Coeur Net by 50L off level weights. My fancy is now 5lbs better off with that rival who for me looks better over the shorter 2m trip. Looked in need of the run when last seen 26 days ago over nearly 2m6f and now dropped another 2lbs, the return to his distance win and winning jockey of Tom O'Brien will hopefully to the trick..

Henry Daly's Chestnut mare BLACK TULIP is successful in two hurdle races at 2m 5f and 2m 6f on good and heavy ground. Third of 8 behind De Forgotten One beaten 18l at 3-1fav on her latest outing in a chase at Stratford over 2m 7f on soft last month.
She is yet to get off the mark over fences and is 0-7 but she ran very well for a long way when third on last month's reappearance outing at Stratford over 2m6f on soft going and this better ground and 3m could be the key for Richard Johnson who was on her main rival in the betting last time.
CHEQUERED VIEW looks a bit too high in the weights and that's probably why Patrick Cowley(5) has been put up and hopefully I could come out smelling of Roses and put me in profit..

Rose Dobbin's 5yr old Chestnut gelding Espoir Moriviere is a nine run maiden who had her best run and wasn't beaten too far over almost three miles here 12 days ago but ran out of puff where it mattered and this 2m4f will be more up her street. She made mistakes at crucial times on this seasonal reappearance and attracted each-way interest and looks a good bet today off bottom weight on favoured Heavy ground..

A welcome Winner at 7/2 and only £15 in the Red now..

NOBLE BEHEST Took a keen hold, held up in rear early, headway on outer to chase leader after 4f, led over 3f out, held on well under pressure from over 1f out, ridden out..

NOBLE BEHEST has turned a corner since partnered by this useful claimer and capitalised on a lenient mark in gutsy fashion from another well-treated sort, full value for the win for all he got first run. He's now three from three over CD..

David Rees's 8yr old Bay Gelding BENI LIGHT  has won a chase and two point-to-points from 2m 4f to 3m all on good ground.  Beaten just 3/4l by the Hot Pot and 5/6f Heavenly Promise when second of 9 at 5-1 on his latest outing in a chase at Uttoxeter over 2m 4f on soft ground earlier this month.  My fancy today was giving the favourite 21lbs last time out with Dicky Johnson doing the steering and it looks a good move to have the BetVictor Gold Cup winning jockey Richard Patrick taking off another 3lbs today.

Beni Light had been most consistent since returning to regulation fences in September, including when just beaten by earlier winner Heavenly Promise at Uttoxeter earlier this month, but having raced prominently he faded rather tamely from the turn in. His trainer's explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the going on this occasion and would prefer a quicker surface..

I haven't gave up just yet, I went to Haydock yesterday on the 40th anniversary off meeting my wife in Flintlocks in town. I dropped her off in Botanic Road in a taxi, had a few hours sleep and then went to Arsenal away in which we drew 0-0.
We had played Arsenal in the Charity Shield in the August before and won 3-1, it is probably the best I have ever seen us play. There is no horse today and I am going to be more selective in the future..
