Keep an eye on the French league. Lots of good teams to back there when at home, usually around Evens aswell.

sounds good. is it singles only, or doubles trebles etc that amount to evens as well?

there may not be enough weeks left of the season to get to eight bets, if you're patient and wait on an evens bet that most agree on.

We can go into the World Cup, not long to wait after that.  ;D

And doubles/trebles are sound if it is worth it, definitely.

There's a fair few rounds of football to be played in Europe. 6 in the championship + playoffs. 9 in La liga, a fair few European games.

Oh, and I don't mind waiting till the World Cup to get the last few.. ;)

Ye reckon we will definately have a few good prices around..Few teams battling to stay up so there will be decent performances put in by poor sides so might get a few good prices around there..It all seems so simple when you think about it dosnt it?

Le Havre at home to Guingamp who are third from bottom, le Havre priced at 20/21, might start on this only thing thats holding me back are Guingamp seem to like a draw, and the french leagues tend to fuck me over.

Why not make it 9 bets?

First bet of £10 wins you £20, of which £10 is used for the next bet and £10 is left spare, so if one loses later on, you can start again without depositing more.

Euro 2004 won £510 after sticking a tenner on Baros to win the golden boot at 50-1. Start of next European campaign I let it ride on us to beat Graz AK away... was contemplating letting it ride on Man Utd to get beat away in France the next night but decided against it, there's a fine line between balls and stupidity and I almost crossed it. The Mancs won.

Alright.

I don't like Mondays betting wisely too much and this is no exception. The only bet I found slightly tempting is Man City -1.5 @ 2. Man City doesn't have an impressive record against Wigan and hasn't won by more than one goal in quiet some time. But it's totally different this time and City have pressure at them while Wigan is useless away from home (lost 4-0 against Bolton). I'm relatively sure City will play with both Adebayor and Tevez upfront and they won't left the pitch without scoring.

But I'll see if this is a bet I'll throw away my first bet on in this challenge.

If you hit your first six bets and don't want to stake £640 at number seven, you can just start from the beginning with the lowest stake?

I'm not arguing with the method in the OP, just suggesting that it gives us a small safety net.

Will be interesting to see how many have the balls to put £640 on the last bet.

When we get to that stage, I'll probably withdraw £140, and use the £500. Still gets you to £1000, but if not, you've taken £10 to £140, and had fun in the process.

Not a bad idea, the £500 on. However, in theory whenever it goes down you've only lost a tenner of your own hard earned. I wouldn't look at it that way though :D

The only problem is that you never know what Wigan will turn up. They could get hammered but they could also turn up and get a result just as easily.

We'll cross these bridges when we come to it.  ;)

I don't see anything tonight at all. We should also try and bet on things we have slight knowledge about - Le Havre at home to Guingamp, as tempting as that 11/10 is on statistics, is a bit of a swerve for me because I have never watched a Ligue 2 match in my life.

another option is you could withdraw £320 when you get to £640 which means you would be seeing a nice profit while only moving back one stage in the process. getting to £640 will be the hard part.
