Newcastle.

Ohhhhh yeah! Match made in heaven.

Jose would love to get his hands on big transfers again. :D

I definitely believe him here. He's a twat but he puts in the work required.

Mark my words. Top 8 will be a massive struggle.
We won't make any big signings this season and we will go back to being a top4 club.

Chelsea would be dumb to not be in touch.

How much do we reckon it'd cost them to get rid of Pochettino?

3rd season Mourinho is the definition of insanity.
It’s incredible how consistent he is in this regard: it’s like an actual law of physics.

Even weirder is how his span at the very best leagues seems to have shortened to two seasons max, but he can still go three seasons in a weaker like Serie A before it all explodes. He is ageing like a footballer ages, even though he is a coach.

So bizarre. You can even re-hire him, and he will be fine for a bit—as in Chelsea. He is one of the strangest cases in coaching.

AC Milan v Bologna match was mad. 2 missed penalties by AC (first one from Ground was saved, second from Hernandez hit the post, and then stuck it in on the rebound but was disallowed for touching the ball twice as nobody else touched it on the rebound). Then two goals from Ruben loftus cheek before a late pen to bologna to equalise

Surprised to have seen few mention Simone Inzaghi in the next manager thread. Inter seemingly cruising to this Serie A title with consistent wins building on their run to the Champions League final last season, he would certainly be a strong candidate in my mind but whether he would leave Italy is another matter. Would be nice to see a different Inzaghi do something positive with Liverpool actually.

Italian league. It's pedestrian. What goes on there is of no relevance to the Premier League. We don't want their players, and certainly don't want their managers.

As he who shall revolutionise midfield as we know it amazingly doesn't have his own topic I'll add this here:

Paul Pogba: Juventus midfielder banned for four years for doping

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been banned from football for four years for a doping offence.

He was provisionally suspended in September after a drugs test found elevated levels of testosterone in the former Manchester United player's system.

France international Pogba, 30, was randomly tested after Juventus' first match of the season on 20 August.

He was handed the ban by Italy's national anti-doping tribunal (Nado).

The failed drugs test was confirmed by Nado in a second sample in October, and the anti-doping prosecutor's office had requested the maximum four-year suspension.
Unless he gets it reduced on appeal then that's pretty much his career over.

According to the radio he's going to appeal to the Court of Arbitration on the grounds that he accidentally ingested the substance.  It's pretty much the standard defence and rarely, if ever, works.

The word overrated (and underrated) is terminally overused describing footballers of today but I will hear no criticism of Paul Pogba other than that he is without question the single most overrated footballer of his day. Absolute fucking crap, carried to his best achievements with Juventus behind the likes of Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio etc.

His status as the most expensive flop ever luckily covered up by the likes of Maguire/Antony etc, all bizarrely at the same club.
