He's another one that looks quite good. Comfortable playing on the left as well, which kinda makes sense. Johnson's better on the right and none of the other wingers are particularly comfortable on the opposite flank except for Young, who's a bit shit.

Newcastle striker Andy Carroll charged with assault

Andy Carroll has recently signed a new contract with Newcastle
Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is due to appear in court later charged with assault.

Northumbria Police have refused to release details of the incident which led to the player's arrest.

Carroll, who has just signed a new long-term deal at the club, will appear before Tynedale magistrates.

The 21-year-old helped Newcastle earn promotion back to the Premier League after being relegated to the Championship in 2009.

A brief police statement said: "Andrew Thomas Carroll, 21, previously of Prestwick, Newcastle, has been charged with assault.

"He is due to appear before Tynedale Magistrates this morning."

Carroll bailed
Newcastle striker Andy Carroll was bailed by Tynedale Magistrates Court on Monday, after denying a charge of assault on Laurie Henderson (described as a former girlfriend) at a house in Darras Hall on Sunday morning.

As part of his bail conditions, Carroll has been ordered to reside with club captain Kevin Nolan at his Ponteland home. The case was adjourned until January 10th 2011.

Carroll does not have to stay overnight at Nolan's address when Newcastle are playing and is ordered not to contact any prosecution witnesses. He's claiming self-defence.

Carroll is also due in Newcastle Crown court next Monday (25th) to answer a charge of occasioning actual bodily harm arising from an incident in a nightclub in 2009.

Errr because I find it amusing, do I need your sense of humour approval for my posts? No I didn't think so.

However given his (Carroll's) track record:
Sept 2008 - Accepted a police caution for assault against a woman
Dec 2009 - Arrested and charged with assault after smashing a glass in a blokes face outside a nightclub (currently on bail awaiting Crown Court trial)
Mar 2010 - Arrested and interviewed following the training ground bust up with Steven Taylor
Oct 2010 - Charged with assaulting a former girlfriend and claimed it was self defence (His 6ft 3inch frame versus her 5ft nothing frame)

He's hardly a roll model for the youth of today and he's been due for some comeuppance. Yes it's a shame Kev Nolan has been dragged into it but Carroll's a shithouse and has it coming to him imo.

One of these is going to happen to Carroll and soon:

1. Hes going to end up going to prison for a long time and ruining his career if he keeps up all the violence
2. Hes going to end up picking on the wrong person and getting seriously hurt or worse.
3. Hes going to learn from these incidents and keep his nose clean from now on and become a half decent player.

Sadly for him hes too fucking thick for it to be number 3. My money is on number 2!
