Memorial stones
« on: September 15, 2016, 09:53:38 pm »
Does anyone know anything about plans for memorial stones around anfield? Saw a couple of articles about it earlier this year but don't know if it came to anything.
Any help much appreciated.

You mean the ones that you can personalise?

I've not heard anything but would assume they'll be installed once the rest of the main is finished. But that's just a guess.

I've got one ordered. They said they;d be going in around late September. I'm apparently getting an email when it's installed.

Got mine ordered too and had the e-mail to say the details are now locked in as it's gone to the manufacturers. They will notify me when it's getting put in.

First 3000 are done.

Spoke to the steward and he said there's approx another 12000 to go in, no chance they'll all be ready for Boro.

Mine is circa 4500 so hopefully it will get done in time.

Was up at the ticket office yesterday, so tried to have as quick look at the stones.

It was all cordoned off with people working on them.

I was expecting maybe one or two people working on them, but no.  They had a small army of about seven or eight toiling away.  Which quite surprised me.

Club have confirmed mine has gone in and sent a link to a map to help locate it, I'm looking forward to seeing it when we visit in a few weeks.
