Mike Gordon "investment possible"

"under the right conditions, even to outright investment"

Some strong words used here, could easily be translated as they are looking to sell the club.

Given FFP has let our owners down, could their plan be to look for a full or part exit?

This won't end well.
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

Which part in particular makes you believe they are looking to sell the club?

It does only if you want it to.  If you'd quoted the full extent of what he said rather than pick out one small thing then its clear he's talking about third party commercial investments, not selling the club:

Quote
“Candidly, we’ve had a lot of interest in this area from third parties.

“While Anfield will always be Anfield, we are in fact in the market for a naming partner for the new Main Stand.

“Thus far we have had a number of very interesting conversations encompassing a wide range of partnership options.

“In reality, any Main Stand commercial sponsorship will ultimately depend on what potential partners are looking to achieve from such a relationship.”

“I believe we at FSG have been clear all along that we intend to be creative and bold in all of our commercial activities in an effort to generate more revenue, which in turn is used to increase funding to those parts of the club that help us win football matches.

“It is worthwhile to point out that these deals can entail complex discussions around a wide spectrum of possibilities, from naming rights and hospitality packages to bundling with other sponsorship opportunities across the club and under the right conditions, even to outright investment.

“The common thread to all of these options, or any other commercial activity of LFC, is that they must help to accomplish the goal of generating additional resources to invest in LFC in order to move the club forward and win trophies.”

You'd have to really twist it to get to that conclusion.

He's basically saying that in the right conditions there could be a situation where they are willing to allow a sponsor to come in as an investor in some part. Sort of like both Adidas and Audi at Bayern I guess.

It's not really much of a shock, they gave away a small bit to LeBron previously.

No offence to the OP but this thread's only going to go one way, same boring tedious shite and circular arguments, with nobody budging on their thoughts about either FSG or how those words can be interpreted, until a mod rightfully locks it :yawn

@ Veinticinco de Mayo The way you talk to other users on this forum is something you should be ashamed of as someone who is suppose to be representing the site.

Not sure about that Craig.

If you read carefully, it looks to me like FSG are selling the club to Dacia. And with the money they make they're intent on buying Everton.
It even looks like the mods are going to mutiny because nobody knows how to change the background colour of the site to blue and are arguing over the renaming rights.

My money is on Hinesy winning a majority takeover and from next week we'll all be signing on to 'Squawk'.

Does the OP work for Murdoch? Great twisting of words, I have to say.

I already assumed we were looking for a sponsor for the Main Stand...?

Please someone either lock this or completely rewrite the OP. It's utter garbage and the article is clearly about the stadium and investment therein.
