Couldn't care either way really

Same. It's not really a big deal. Would prefer Liverpool Football Club, or if they want to be old fashioned, using the entire name. Other than that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okMN4A6FnA8

I posted this pic in the wrong topic so just thought I would share it in this topic where it belongs. My personal opinion is, I don't actually mind the logo being 'The Liverpool Football Club'... Looks okay on the eye if you ask me :)

'The Liverpool Football Club'. If only to piss the bitters off, I would love to see that as odd as that sounds. Interestingly, the Guardian featured an article by a linguist about how the usage of 'The' has fallen over the last few decades and was used in fact much more commonly previously.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Yeah I think it's boss either way but people will moan about anything these days it seems, even a definite article.

It's Anfield, It's red, it will be a nice stand, will be a lovely plaza, and for sorting that out I think those are the important bits.

I'd prefer just Liverpool Football Club too, but The Liverpool Football Club doesn't sound that bad if you pronounce it "thee" rather than "thuh".

Besides I read it as "The one and only Liverpool Football Club" rather than any shite about Everton or being the only club from the City! But interpretation is horses for courses I guess!

It's only a matter for discussion at the moment. I don't think we need to get too stressed over it.

Whether it happens or not, I think it's a good move. Despite me and many others preferring it just say "Liverpool Football Club", I don't really care, a signs a sign.

"In my the Liverpool home..........."

Fuck's sake.......what next? "This Is The Anfield"?

No need for a definite article - we know who we are.

Maybe we should go for 'We Come Not To Play' in neon over all 4 stands, and charge the $ for it (although planning regs may scupper that idea), or possibly just 'The Dunkin' Donuts Main Stand, in association with Budweiser' or whatever FSG tell us to call the stand in due course?  If we're going for the revenue angle, may as well go the whole hog, no?

But, we do need some sort of 'iconic' vista for day trippers to take a selfie of themselves in front of, I don't think the Shankly statue is big enough for the right effect.

There's a bit of bipolar disorder going on here. There are laments on the club falling behind in comparison to our rivals in terms of both revenue and global reach, then we have people moaning about the owner's initiative to help address that disparity.

It's just a freaking sign board - the soul of the club is not being mortgaged to make it happen.

Not sure what the big deal is, "The Liverpool Football Club" has that touch of arrogance that we loved coming from managers like Shanks. Everton won't like it but making such bold and decisive statements is what we've always done on the pitch and off it, and always should do.

Would it be simpler just having it say "Liverpool Football Club"...? Yes.
Would it be better...?

When I first read of this idea I thought.......'No thanks', but I have to admit.....it does look COOL!

I was the same. That's the reason why I did a little bit of editing on photoshop, was just to get an idea of what it would look like. Glad I did it in the end because at first I was like.... ya waaaa?...The Liverpool Football Club??? but after doing a little mock up of what it could potentially look like (even though it would most probably look a lot different to what I have done on photoshop), it actually looks decent so I wouldn't mind seeing it on the stand. Even if they don't go ahead with it, I'm still a fan of the redeveloped stand anyway.

Now, I just can't wait to get a glimpse of what the redeveloped AR stand is going to look like. I know, I'm impatient haha :)

Don't much care either way about the sign, but really don't see any actual Evertonians being even vaguely arsed by it. They've long since abandoned ALL use of the "L" word anyway (hence KEIOC and similar nonsense) so whether it's The Liverpool Football Club or just L.F.C. in massive letters, it really doesn't matter.

Was anyone here seriously upset by all the "People's club" malarkey? Were you thinking "Oh, no! That witty fox Moyes has truly bested us there! Never more will I wear the red shirt to the pub lest the locals deride me for not being of the people!"

Come on.

Hahahaha! Nice one, CentuRhion! ;D

About the Everton thing, cheers Nessy. Everton didn't even register on my radar when this thread started, it's got absolutely fuck all to do with them......

What stuck in my craw (to borrow an Americanism straight out of the mmmmmmmovies) was the thought of what such a phrase reminds me of - and the word that follows "THE" in my mind here in this context is "FRANCHISE".

Last time I looked, we were LFC (tra la la la la! ;) ) - not TLFC. The T is superfluous.

Oh and I love the change to the thread title - very subtle that :thumbup

Who knew the blues were so sensitive?
Are there Liverpool fans who stand seething with rage outside "Everton 2" rather than just going "Yeah, that's funny, but not a scoreline you often see in reality. "

Hahahaha! Nice one, CentuRhion! ;D

Maybe they can't afford a sign that big? TLFC just looks wrong and sounds too contrived. Full title or LFC. "Do the simple things but do them well."

I know what the recent docs say, they include a 'The' at the start.
I'm merely pointing out that we we were incorporated without a 'The'.

On those forms the handwritten part is where you state the required name, I've filled in enough during my early days in the profession, any way it's not a huge issue, although the facebook sounds weird now.
