Roma songs
« on: March 18, 2002, 02:20:59 pm »
A song that even the Centenary stand can sing for the Roma match. The Farm's "Altogether now"

Altogether now, altogether now, altogether now, for LIV-ER-POOL.
Altogether now (altogether), altogether now (altogether), altogether now (altogether), for LIV-ER-POOL.

Anyone know a short Italian one????

I won't be there but I'd like to nominate "Fields of Anfield Road"

Outside the Shankly Gates
I heard a Kopite calling :
Shankly they have taken you away
But you left a great eleven
Before you went to heaven
Now it's glory round the Fields of Anfield Road.

Chorus :
All round the Fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and he could play)
We had Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
Of the glory round the Fields of Anfield Road

Outside the Paisley Gates
I heard a Kopite calling
Paisley they have taken you away..
You led the great 11
Back in Rome in 77
And the redmen they are still playing the same way

All round the Fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and he could play)
We had Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
Of the glory round the Fields of Anfield Road

And I'd like to propose ttnbd's 3rd verse...

Outside the Spion Kop
I heard a Kopite calling
Fagan they have taken you away
You did the treble like non b4
back in 1984
On the glory Fields of Anfield Road.

Or we could get George into trouble again and sing "Arrivederci Roma"...  ;D ;D ;D

Arrivederci Roma,
Goodbye, goodbye to Rome . . .

City of a million moonlit places,
City of a million warm embraces,
Where I found the one of all the faces,
Far from home!

Arrivederci Roma,
It's time for us to part,

Save the wedding bells for my returning,
Keep my lover's arms outstretched and yearning,
Please be sure the flame of love keeps burning,
In her heart!

City of a million moonlit places,
City of a million warm embraces,
Where I found the one of all the faces,
Far from home!

Arrivederci Roma,
It's time for us to part,

Save the wedding bells for my returning,
Keep my lover's arms outstretched and yearning,
Please be sure the flame of love keeps burning,
In her heart!

Arrivederci Roma,
Roma, Roma, Roma . . .

Nice short Italian one. "Go Back To Italy" x4 to "Santa Lucia". Probably best sung near the end!

Thud thud thud thud thud... etc.

The Kop faints as the Centenary sings...

Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple - Bill Shankly.
