I'm not proud of handing the armband to a player who wanted off, manouevred like hell, called his manager a liar,  and will likely go off if we don't make the champions league anyway. Yes, the captaincy isn't a big issue, but it's one of the few things that can represent an emotional aspect of a club in modern football, it's one thing I would prefer reserved for a player who actually cares just a little about the club.

Torres was marvelous for us, but this guy is a different level altogether. The form he's showing this season is above what we saw from peak the peak Steven Gerrard.

If Suarez stays on with us, he'll most likely become the quickest player in LFC history to 100 goals. Fowler holds the record with 100 in 165. Suarez will easily break that if he stays I reckon.

At this rate, its very close to Fowler's record. IF he maintains 0.63 score rate, it will need another 50.8 games to get to 100,
which means he would have done it in 158.8 games.
Another point of course is he needs to stay at Liverpool to do this.   

However, he has another set to stats. ASSISTS.  Torres does not have a good stat on this.

Better to work with the player you know.
In any case, the CL monies will easily pay for his wages.
However if he leaves, CL may not be forth coming even if he was sold for a record.

What's so good about him is that he's only now starting to hit his peak, and his peak is going to be a long one. He's not particularly fast (although his acceleration is very good) so he isn't going to suddenly go to shit one he loses that little burst. He'll still be terrorizing defences in his early 30's.

There is a serious case for him being the best in the world at this very moment in time.

I would say that might not necessarily have to pay him a high weekly salary just promise him a very large loyalty bonus for completing three years with us, by that time, if he carries on like this (and I don;t think he needs motivating by money) he may well have earned the club the money we would pay him.
