I said I'd be happy with 9 points the last time round. We got 10, which is brilliant. So I'm gonna say anything less than 10 this time round will be a disappointment.

Predictions:

Hull - 3
Swansea - 3
Man Utd - 3
West Brom - 3
Crystal Palace - 3

15.

I'm going for 11 points. 3 wins and 2 draws.

It might be better, but we'll see. The Man Utd result today against Watford, and indeed our own hiccup against Burnley, showed us that even the lesser teams in the league these days have enough about them to take points from the big boys.

If we can become flat track bullies, and keep our usual good form up against the better sides, then we could even have an outside chance of challenging for the title. I'd like to see us get six points int he next two 'should win' games, as that will show that we are starting to pick that useful habit up.

Wanted 9 points, got 10.

I want 11 points from the next five, so here's hoping we get 12 (as long as we don't lose to the Mancs. Palace away looks a toughie).

West Brom a danger here. Knackered after the derby, difficult to motivate against small team after a big match, and you rarely beat a Pulis side twice in a week.. Expect no defeat in these five and 11 points, 13 would be excellent.

Hull City (H) - 3.
Swansea City (A) - 1.
Man Utd (H) - 3.
West Brom (H) - 1.
Crystal Palace (A) - 3.

Our last set of 5 were much tougher, and apart from a blip at Burnley and bit of bad luck at Spurs 10 points is excellent

I'm going for:

Hull City (H) - 3
Swansea City (A) - 3
Man Utd (H) - 3.
West Brom (H) - 3
Crystal Palace (A) - 3

I'd snap your hand off for 13!

We want to get 10 as a minimum. Not easy. Since there aren't any easy fixtures in this league. The next 5 games will pose a completely different challenge to what we've generally faced so far. Team will be more set up like Burnley than Spurs/Arsenal/Leicester/Chelsea. We've got to prove that we can overcome this challenge consistently before I'd be predicting 15 point hauls. That's without factoring in the inevitable goals Benteke will get against us away at Palace!
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Was thinking after the game against Mancs (is it not a derby?), there might by a couple injuries due to shitcoat shit tactics and mental tiredness so not easy match vs Pulis´ West Brom. Also, from my memory, its hard to win two games in a row at home. Hope Im wrong.

If we can average 10 points for every 5 matches we play during the season that puts us on 70 points with 3 games to spare. Which over the last couple of years has been the bar for achieving 4th place at the end of the season. Anything more and we are well placed for CL qualification, anything less and we may miss out.

Everyone seems to be predicting 3 points against Hull. Last time we did that against Burnley we were in for a rude shock. So, here's me un-jinxing us against Hull:

Hull - 1
Swansea - 3
Man Utd - 3
West Brom - 3
Crystal Palace - 0

10 points.

Doubt we'll beat both West Brom and Palace. Just not our style to pick up 6 points in games like those.

Heart says 12 points but my head overruled so I'll go with 10.

10 points from 5 tough games. Beating Chelsea made up for the Burnley loss.

Don't expect a strong start at all. We're going into the season without making improvements at the back, apart from in net, but he's injured, which was the problem area to begin with.

Hull is the key for me. We win this one, we open for more possibility as after that we'll play Swansea that will play open, perfect for us. A good run again both these teams mean we carry a lot of confidence to unlock WBA at home. United is the next big game, but I trust Klopp's preparation better in off weeks instead of that of Mourinho.
CP is the biggest problem, but I don't think that Pardew is a defensive manager, so again, it opens an opportunity for us to attack them. Besides, London has been good this season, no? :)

Yeah it would be so typical of us to drop points home to Hull after beating Chelsea away. Hopefully under Klopp that will change.

Completely agree. The irony is that it is a hammering of hull that would breed more confidence than the Chelsea result. We all know the record of the last few years of losing against so called lesser teams. If we can beat Hull comfortably then I can see this mini run being turned into a sustained one. I would be happy with 11 points + from those fixtures. Anything over 10 games where we are averaging over 2 points per game is where we need to be.

Well this is it then.......the test. Have we really learnt much from last season or will we continue our pattern of dropping points in "easier" fixtures....

here's what I reckon:

Hull - 3
Swansea - 1
Man Utd - 3
West Brom - 3
Crystal Palace - 1
