King Kenny watching the Marsaille game in the Sportsbook at the MGM Grand Las Vegas.
Couldn't believe my eyes so had photo taken with him.

Paul Dalglish was also there with a load of mates.

my mate had been to vegas to watch the fight, and text me to say he was in the Belaggio and the whole Dalglish family was there. He was buzzin, don't know if photo's followed or what.
Our round the world trip.

So I grew up in England but i have lived in Los Angeles for ages. I go to the University of Southern California right by downtown LA. The Argentina national squad was in town this week to play Guatemala for a friendly. One of my good friends is of Argentinian heritage. In fact, his dad actually knows a lot of people in the Argentinian national team's infrastucture. So my friend called me on monday afternoon as i was walking home after class and tells me that the Argentina team will be practicing on the USC girl's practice football (he said soccer) field. So I wander over there and there are a bunch of people standing outside the gating. My friend shows up with his dad and brother. Their dad walks with some official looking man onto the pitch itself, his sons follow, and I take my opportunity, put on my best 'Don't worry, I am important' face on and waltz right onto the pitch. It was great, got to see the team practicing from about five feet away.

Went to the game on wednesday, in which Argentina hammered Guatemala 5-0, Masch played for 90 mins. My friend went back to the team's hotel with his dad (with my liverpool top in tow). He called me just now, said that Masch was one of the most genuine football players he ever met. I requested that masch sign it 'Tom Hicks is shit,' but that didn't really work out. He did ask him, however, and this is the important part, what he thought of Tom Hicks--to which Masch replied 'if he signs me, i'll love him, otherwise he's eh' (y'know, one of those 'eh's' that signifies a non-vehement dislike. Anyway, I was under the impression that masch was signed already, but the horse's mouth says otherwise.

Interesting...

I love Masch...sorry, I felt the sudden need to share that.

By the way Mr Dodger - you really are jammy! Can't believe you managed to watch them training. Was the match good? Did Masch play well?

Nice one
He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

He did play.  But I guess you don't need one of the world's best DMs when you're winning 5-0 (I think it was 4-0 at half-time)

Why are the argies playing Masch for 90 mins against flippin' Guatemala? Christ, international friendlies are a complete waste of time.
He'll probably miss the chelsea game with jet lag. Seriously pissed now.

I see your Rhino and raise you Hunter. He was my brother's next door neighbour for a while. Was apparently very arrogant - especially when he shaved his head and began to think of himself as a serious actor.

Re Masch - When are the Olympics? Would this mean we lost him for pre-season training or even the first few matches? Lucas will probably be involved as well won't he?

well when you think about it,it doesn't really have much sense,it's probably the most meaningless football tournament around.

The latest chapter in my LFC stalking accolades...

Went to see Afrika! Afrika! at the Trafford Centre on Wednesday night.

Brilliant show, loads of free food and drinks (Amarula Cream, mmm...) and crazy contortionists and human pyramids. I've written a review but here's the MEN's here:

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/entertainment/theatre_and_dance/theatre_and_dance_reviews/s/1059586_afrika_afrika__trafford_centre

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/entertainment/theatre_and_dance/s/1048078_a_taste_of_afrika

Anyway there were loads of Z-list celebrities about, a few birds from Hollyoaks, couple of people from Corrie, that 90's pop gimp Kavanagh (my girlfriend recognised him, not me, honest) and that fat fella from the Royal Mail adverts.

But fuck them. Standing in a VIP area in one tent was none-other than the the master of the crumple to the floor to win a free kick, Mr 'I put away a penalty that won the European Cup with a broken foot', everybody's favourite German, the Kaiser, Dietmar Hamann! Stood looking sharp but awkwardly gangly none-the-less with his beautiful wife and some guy.

So it came to the interval and after I'd got a drink I thought I'd have a quick word.

Me: "Excuse me Mr Hamann [you've got to be respectful] I'd just like to say thank you for everything you did for Liverpool. We really appreciated it."

Didi: Blink blink. "Thanks."

At which point I wished him luck and scuttled off with a grin on my face like a 12-year-old who's just met one of his heroes. Which I had.  ;D
