Pretty high for Neco I think, although most likely at left back (or left wing back).

That Finland squad is a bit of an eye opener. Daniel O’Shaugnessy and RobertTaylor surely have British or Irish heritage. And I think Lassi Lappalainen might be my favourite name in the tournament.

He started the last 2 world cup qualifiers, and played 90 mins in each, Wilson started both as well, so a decent chance.

You’re fucking obsessed with this sort of Little Englander shite aren’t you? You do it constantly in the rugby threads as well.

Embarrassing rubbish from someone who presumably realises we don’t live in isolated countries of homogeneous ancestry where people only strictly qualify for one country.

No Neco or Wilson in the XI for Wales...

https://twitter.com/Cymru/status/1403678643277209605

Switzerland XI: Sommer; Mbabu, Elvedi, Schär, Akanji, Rodríguez; Freuler, Xhaka, Shaqiri; Embolo, Seferovic.

Whoa. That’s not what I meant at all. Just had no idea there was some called O’Shaughessy playing in Finland. Seems quite unusual that’s all. According to a mate he was at Brentford for a while and even had a trial at Liverpool (that bit could be bollocks). Good luck to him/them.

I do it in the rugby threads when it’s players who qualify on residency after three years or whatever it is which I think is a bit of a piss take whatever we the country but I don’t have any issue with it, just a passing observation.

Why limit yourself to being bribed by only one country when you could have seven!

I loved how he said it’s to celebrate the diversity of Europe. The black players certainly would be racially abused in diverse ways.
Lol, no offence intended to you two but this place makes me laugh sometimes (often). Everything anyone ever does is terrible. Nothing has any redeeming features. Just cynicism and negativity all the way

Joking about residency is fine.... I do find the mocking of names a bit off though. As if everyone in Scotland has to be called Hamish Mactavish, and only England is allowed "foreign" names.

My sister and her husband are working out in Baku at the moment. Naturally enough she's got corporate tickets for this game. She knows it's Wales Vs Switzerland (it's printed on the tickets) but I'm not sure she'll know which team will be wearing red and who'll be in white.

The joys of being a part of the UEFA Football Family (i.e. corporate sponsors).

To be fair he didn't mock names, he suggested the names implied British/Irish heritage.

Wouldn't be mocking to say someone with Traore as a surname could have Malian heritage, , someone's surnaame ending -sson having Icelandic hertiage or someone with a million vowels in their surname ending in -nen has Finnish heritage

Hey I'm not losing any sleep over it, don't worry. Just a minor irritation.

I certainly don't think it comes across as a Little Englander. If anything it's the opposite - a sort of mocking of the other 3 nations over their lack of diversity compared to England.

Get on S4C mate (www.s4c.cymru/clic/Live) - easy to sign up and free to watch... even if you don't speak or understand Welsh it'll still make more sense than Robbie Savage.

Probably free and accessible on your set-top box (freeview, freesat, virgin, sky, etc) for free if you're in the UK. https://twitter.com/S4C & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S4C

(though to be fair to Savage he did make a good jibe at Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson on the BBC yesterday. Kuenssberg is probably enraged it was on the BBC too)
