Brighton have a killer run in, if they fail to beat Palace next week they may not get another point
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

Was 40/1 now 20/1 if you can get it.  Brighton are badly off-form since the break.

What odds for failing to score a goal?

Was hoping Palace would be in the bottom three by the end of the weekend but looks like Southampton will not wriggle free of the relegation grip. Too bad...

Minimum 36 points for safety. It could be up to 39.

Looking at the fixtures I'd think Stoke and West Brom are done, can't see Stoke doing better than 6 points with their fixtures which means with GD Swansea prob only need 1 point from last 5 games.  Southampton in theory have games they could get points in,  away Leicester, home Bournemouth, away everton, away Swansea, (8 points) very optimistic with form, but possible.

well there's 3 points for them. Perhaps the fans will be given a questionnaire on the coach to rate the team performance to be collected when they arrive back in Rhyl ?

It's no worse having those fixtures than playing the bottom 3-4 teams in a relegation battle. Chelsea will likely have confirmed that top 4 is gone by then and whatever happens in the Europa, Arsenal will be phoning it in by that stage.

Looked like this would be an entertaining relegation battle for a while but the bottom 3 just haven't kicked on the way teams down there usually do. It's all done now I think. West Brom have left it too late and have no chance, Stoke need a minimum of 7 points from 3 games (realistically Swansea aren't going to lose all 5 games) and are at Anfield next weekend, and Southampton have thrown away 6 points recently and have a pretty difficult fixture run (Man City, their derby, and relegation clash away at Swansea).

You'd imagine Swansea will win at least 1 of the 5 games they have left, which means Southampton/Stoke need one of Huddersfield/Palace/West Ham to lose every remaining game while also making a dramatic turnaround in their own form. Just don't see it happening.

Would rather these 3 went down anyway really. West Brom have a decent recent record against us, Southampton deserve to learn the lesson the hard way after spitefully keeping hold of an unfit and injured player for 3 months, and Stoke have long overstayed their welcome.

Two wins a draw and Southampton could catch Brighton and Swansea and could even overtake them going into the last weekend.

If Huddersfield fail to beat Everton at home, they could catch them as well.

Southampton could catch West Ham as well. But both Huddersfield and West Ham have Everton at home and fixtures do not get any easier than that!

And they don't have physically imposing players like WBA did either. They have to attack.

Swansea’s penultimate game of the season is Southampton at home and their last game is Stoke at home. The Saints game is a midweek game. Talk about huge games.

Everton is the key. They have to play Huddersfield, Southampton and West Ham.
Leicester have to play Palace and West Ham.

Bournemouth visit Southampton and host Swansea.

Southampton's inability to close out games has probably dulled some of the drama out of this. Huddersfield and Southampton look the only likely candidates to get that 3rd spot. But if Southampton fail to beat Bournemouth and Huddersfield defeat Everton it might be all wrapped up

I really think the bottom 3 stays exactly the way it is now, with maybe just Southampton/Stoke trading places based on results. But they'll both be joining WBA in the Championship though.

After taking the lead yet again and failing to win, you could see the Stoke players looked shattered at the end there yesterday. Southampton just look like a nothing side with players who take no responsibility. They can't attack, can't defend, they can't do anything and I don't see them winning one let alone two or even their remaining three games to stay up.

Shame, but I think Huddersfield are gone.
One more win for Swansea and Southampton could be enough, and they play each other next week.

West Ham (35) ......... Leicester (a), Man.United (h), Everton (h).
Huddersfield (35) ..... Man.City (a), Chelsea (a), Arsenal (h).
Swansea (33) .......... Bournemouth (a), Southampton (h), Stoke (h).
Southampton (32) ... Everton (a), Swansea (a), Man.City (h).

Yeah, I think Huddersfield are gone. The only thing saving them will be if Southampton don't pick up a win in their last three games, as the Saints have superior goal difference. Any other season, the likes of West Ham and Swansea could have been dragged down. West Ham for instance only have two wins in their last twelve games and have the worst defensive record in the entire league, but are probably going to stay up on GD.  That little purple patch in  January and early February will probably just keep Swansea up. I could see them getting at least three points out of their last three games. Swansea are  probably going to decide Southampton's fate. Stoke will be done by the time Swansea face them.

On the final day, most likely Huddersfield will need to beat Arsenal.
They'll have the crowd, the motivation, but will it be enough?
And will Arsenal turn up if it's NOT Wenger's last game, with the Europa final 3 days away?
Like 'Laughter' says, Huddersfield's best chance will be if Arsenal reach the final.

The bookies still have Southampton as favourites to join West Brom and Stoke.

I don't know if it would be a shame, if I'm brutally honest.

Ideally I'd have preferred Swansea to go down - getting rid of them, Stoke and West Brom would have been nice because they're all tinpot clubs who seem to love taking points from us - but I think Southampton offer a lot more to the league in terms of entertainment and quality than Huddersfield, as nice a story as it was them finally returning to the top flight.

Huddersfield could be drawing with Arsenal with 5 minutes to go to save themselves with a goal!  The same could then apply to Southampton and Brighton.

Yes, a draw tonight would leave them in need of:
- a win vs Palace
- a loss for Swansea vs Stoke
- a heavy loss for Southampton vs City

That'd see it end 34, 34, 34.  Southampton have scored 5 more than West Brom, so would likely need a 3-0 or better from City from what I can tell.

Stunning effort from West Brom really...they looked absolutely doomed but 11 points from Swansea (H), United (A), Liverpool (H), Newcastle (A), and Spurs (H) to give them a slim chance with a game left is remarkable.
