And strangely he's just this minute come available to apply for so have instantly applied (had all the answers for their form ready to go).

He's a big boisterous 1 year old bulldog. Given Arnie was a boisterous dog about 3x his size I think we're perfectly suited to handle him  ;D

Fingers crossed.

Yeah hoping they see that too. From what I’ve read they get a lot of applications for their dogs, and I imagine he will be in high demand given his relatively young age and it a bit of a looker  ;D

You have a head start though having experience of the bull breeds.

Fingers crossed for you both.

Unsuccessful.

He was currently being fostered around 3.5hrs away (their limits for applications was 4 hours) and seems rather than treating everyone equally within this distance they gave preference to those closer and he went to the first successful home check, so not sure our application even got a look in unfortunately  :(

Bit of a shitty way to do it as you'd hope they'd look to find the best home within the 4 hours they set but there you go. We'll keep looking.

Which is why I'd leave it for now mate.  Wait till you can do it properly instead of leaving it open to heartache.

Well here she is [emoji16], may I introduce Margi, 16 weeks old and utterly adorable. Makes the sunshine that little bit brighter every day.

Having a bit of trouble with our 9 month old shih tzu at the minute. She has been good as gold being left in her crate at night in the living room when we got to bed but the past week she has been barking and crying non stop until one of us go down and sleep on the couch with her. She isn't in season as she was a few weeks ago but we are thinking maybe a phantom pregnancy as she grabs her toys and starts crying and nesting them together.

Any advice on how to solve the night problems as it is absolutely roasting and sleeping on the couch is hard work!

Has she had her first season yet?

Could also be her back teeth coming through as that’s around about the right age for that.

Yeah mate she had it a couple of weeks ago. In regards to the teeth, she doesn't seem to be biting the skirting or anything like she was when she was a puppy.

Could just be hangover from the season mate. Mixed with the heat and possibly teething. If it’s not during the day too then hopefully it’s nothing too serious.

I’d try not to pander too much or she’ll learn that the moaning gets her the attention.

Is she a Malti-chon?

She's adorable whatever she is?

We took our [now just] 2 year old Cavachon away with us to France at the end of July for a week. Brittany Ferries do some dog-friendly cabins, and the whole ferry experience was absolutely fantastic. She was good as gold throughout the holiday, and I think just loved being with us and the walks. The pet passport thing was easier than I'd expected, too - there's a good website that shows on a map vets that British people have recommended for the pre-return check-up/worm treatment and who you can communicate with with only a 'petit peu' of French.

Want to do it again next year!

Had our pup spayed today, so she's wearing a funnel collar thingy to stop her biting her stitches.

She keeps bumping into stuff as her head is three times wider than usual, and she's been sick due to the sedative.  Any ideas what we can do to make her more comfortable for a couple of weeks?

You can get blow up collars which Do the same, Arnie found his much much more comfortable than a big cone.

Have you tried Canopy and Stars?
Two years ago we stayed in a place in Cornwall that had WiFi and a safe, decent size garden. We didn't take our dog(something I now regret)but it would've been perfect for her.
They can be a bit pricey but they have loads of choice.

The inflatable collar had worked a treat, would recommend it if your dog is having an op that will require a head cover.

Edit - I first bought a medium sized collar which was a red snug so got a large one.

Therefore I've got a medium inflatable collar if anyone wants it?

A year ago (yesterday, just) my big guy Arnie died. Can’t believe it’s a whole year, gone so fast. Still think about him all the time, left a massive hole which is not surprising for a big fucking soft twat that he was  ;D
