Looks like it's confidence..He really needs a long run of games to get back into it all. I don't see him getting that here. Such a shame as he was perfect Klopp player pre injury.
Thank Fowler we're not getting Caulker

Off the pace a bit tonight but can’t judge him on tonight alone.

Not going to be a regular starter but see him making a contribution over the season. Maybe even a vital one at some point since he’s always a scoring threat
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Looked better once klopp moved him into the front 3 in the second half.  We’re going to need him there during AFCON too.

Good for him to get the full match under his belt. The opportunities will be there, particularly when both Salah, Mane and Naby are away at AFCON. Hopefully he can stay fit and stay involved and rediscover his confidence.

More assists last night than Gini managed all last season!

Needs to do more though. A player who you feel could always have a goal in them but his general gameplay isn't quite there.

Probably the one I was least impressed with last night but there were glimpses of his threat, and also its very important he got 90 minutes in his legs as others have said..

He will get more opportunities so hope he can focus...as long as others around him are performing too we're good

He looks like he's put a bit of lockdown weight on to be fair.

Thought that too. He seems to have lead in his legs and as a consequence his touch and anticipation is off. He needs games and sharpness and that’s why winning last night was important as it will bring the likes of him back to fitness to be playing in these types of games.

Don’t give up on him I think. He’ll come good if he stays injury free

Excellent tonight. Loved the interception to cut out a dangerous Atletico attack.

He looked a bit more composed today instead of trying too hard. Was snapping into tackles and taking the game to them while remaining tactically disciplined. They struggled with his pressing

Hope to see him get more minutes over the coming weeks. If we can get a win v Atleti at home then we should be giving the likes of AOC, Konate, Gomez, Tsimikas, Minamino and the likes the remaining games. And the Preston game too of course.

With Tiago and Jones struggling with injuries, he might find himself accumulating some PL minutes too.

Hes been quietly improving. When i watched back the watford game i pretty much keyed on Ox for the last half hour and he did well, sure in a shit game etc but he was running hard and looked useful. Same again today, his size and speed helped against the snidery of it all.

Very happy to see a positive influence on the game by Ox, he's such a lovely guy that you're always willing him on. He came in, drove at them and made a few vital tackles and pressed manically. I really hope its a sign of more to come from him.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

If he can keep up the level of play we’ve seen in the last two outings he’ll be very handy for us this season. Hopefully he bangs one in against Preston, would give him even more confidence to play his game.

Must be frustrating for him to see Elliot starting the first games, then Jones coming in and then with them both injured (and Thiago injured and Fabinho not playing) yet Keita comes in. We've seen briefings maybe from the player's side recently of him looking to move on due to lack of opportunities which is fair enough as he'll want to play.

If he can take the chances when he gets them then he can still force his way back in though. He will get chances, he's got to really take them though to get a run in the team and you've seen him eager to do that last night. He'll probably get a start at Preston where he'll need to stand out and then take it from there.

Thought he looked good last night, very lively and pro-active on the ball. Different games require different things but I think he can usually be that first 'go to' off the bench for Klopp. I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea but when he's on it, it just pains me how unfortunate he was with that injury a few years ago when he was looking very good for us. I know he had good involvement the season we won the league but it's just generally hasn't happened for him. I absolutely maintain the position that he has a few big contributions in him this season.

Don't think there's any doubts he'll start at Preston, hopefully 90 minutes in a win where he can stand out and have an influence on the game, which he couldn't do when he started at Norwich in the league and cup.

He definitely grafted, was trying so hard but not a huge amount came off for him

I think this has been the feature of his performances/appearances this year. You can see he's giving it everything but it all just seems a bit 'off'. Hoping this cup run continues to keep giving him minutes, hopefully he gets more minutes in the CL too and against some of the dross in the league. Feel like he might just creep back towards something, if the application stays at the same level. He does give us something not a lot of our midfielders do if he can get back to his best.
3 midfielders minimum in the next window. And probably another young CB to boot.

He had some good moments, I think to be fair if he'd played like that with our first team out we'd be raving over his performance. He had some really good dribbles, beat 3/4 players at a time, but then no-one particularly well placed to pass to. And fizzed some good balls in which our guys, Taki in particular, struggled to control.
