Franny Lee but can't remember which goal it was or even whether it was for City or maybe Derby?

Slightly trick question but which goal was he describing here: "And where were the Germans? But frankly...who cares!"

Nope not Franny Lee. That was along the lines of "Just look at his face!"

Your one is the England Hockey Team, 88 Olympics. Classic :)

I like how I'm not the only one thinking these thought...

1) That Chiles joke at half time in the City vs Utd game...where was that going? He rambled back and forth for what seem an eternity until he delivered that "punchline"
2) Jim Rosenthal scares me, I think he could dress up as a Devil and no-one would notice the difference.
3) Those 10 minutes with no commentary on Sunday were the best 10 minutes of football I've seen on TV. I think I'd rather listen to the crowd more.

BBC please get FA Cup back
BBC trying to balance the books these days and are struggling with their existing sports coverage. May even cut back even more on their sports coverage due to the deal they made with the government regarding the licence fee.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/apr/10/1

Going to have to bear ITV for a few more years. Their coverage is appalling. How I long for the days when ITV had presenters like Elton Welsby and that fantastic opening music.

Yeah, Craig Burley is a jackass.

He had a go at the stadium announcer during that dire Birmingham-Wolves Cup game last week for using the PA system to...erm, announce the official match attendance figure.

The match was soul-crushingly dull and there wasn't much to talk about, fair enough, but the guy was doing his fucking job.  You fucking plank.

Awful channel. From shit sports coverage to constant reality tv. I probably spend no more than 30 mins a week watching the channel, unless a decent game on there.

Apologies for the street talk, but Craig Burley is a total c*nt. If there's one thing worse than Andy Gray it's some prick trying to be Andy Gray. Especially one who was a decidely average player, at best.

Me and me best mate in school were forever quoting the commentary from that . . .

I had a video as a kid, one of those goals of the season things, and I swear, I can recall at some point Brian Moore goes all Alan Partridge on it, actually using the phrase "And that was a howitzer!" to describe a (possibly Stuart Pearce) goal.

I may just be imagining that, although I like to think it actually happened.

Sounds like Sonic the Hedgehog music circa 1991 so it's ok by me  :)

Always preferred the BBC grandstand music myself though. Also, nessun dorma from the '90 world cup was epic in the same way that the champs league music is nowadays.
