Anyone else tempted to lay Envoi? I'm ridiculously excited to see him jump a fence but it always baffles me how a novice can be 1/14. Could easily make an error along the way.
I rarely lay them but first time over fences at that price it should probably be mandatory to.

Quite happy with that from Farouk D’Alene. He’s not beaten a lot but he just got tired. Will improve quite a lot for it I think.

Queens Brook just got beat by one with a handicap rating of 123.

Yep Farouk did nothing wrong there, looks a stayer to me. Get the impression Queens Brook wants further, but hasn’t impressed in either of her hurdle starts

Layed Queens Brook at evs. Going to lay Envoi with the profits so it is just a bet to nothing, hoping I am wrong like and he jumps like the superstar he is. One thing I would say is he is a beautiful horse, but not the biggest.

Nice from Aspire Tower that, get Abracadabras over a fence he's no champion hurdler!

That was more like the Aspire Tower from the start of last season rather than the end, he got progressively more disappointing after looking a potential star last season. Interesting to see if he follows the same pattern this season

Abacadabras is looking like a bridle horse. Doesn't find much when he's popped a question.

I was all over Aspire for the Triumph, gutted with how he regressed.

Fair shout for Abracadabras being a bridle horse, travelled like much the best horse but found nothing there.

Completely agree, case of what could've been with Samcro.

Can understand them wanting a Champion Hurdler but they're going there with chasing types, Faugheen is the only one like that to win it recently and he was just a freak of a horse.

I wanted them to run him in the bumper last year because he was a double figure price. They ran him close to the festival though, so I knew they wouldn't. Did the right thing by the horse long term I think but he'd have gone extremely close I think. Jamie Codd loves him, I remember posting it on here.

Think he's a 3 miler? Maybe in a few years but see him going for the JLT or whatever it's called these days.

I think (hope) they’re aiming at the Marsh Novice Chase rather than RSA, Elliott said that’s the aim at this stage anyway, although as we know they do change their minds. He’s never looked short of pace to me and I think they’ll take the less gruelling option at this stage of his career before heading to the Gold Cup next year if everything goes to plan.

Gonna take a chance on Glorious Zoff, looks to have similar form to Quilixios but is 9/4 as opposed to 1/2. Quite tempted by Samcro as well if he drifts and Easy Game is backed. Just watched him win back in March beating Melon a nose, made me realise that Melon has been to the festival 4 times and finished 2nd every time.

I wouldn't say he's an out and out three miler and they probably will go to the Marsh. I just think his style of racing suggests three miles will suit. He's nice and tidy over everything rather than letting fly, might change with a better quality of opponent though when being asked.

Starting to think Cheveley Park are picking up all the horses that would have gone to Gigginstown previously, seem to be building quite a battalion

Quilixios won with his head in his chest. Cheveley Park are trimming their squad on the flat I think (they keep some horses that run in class 6 handicaps), so they might decide to invest more in the jumps in the future.

Looks that way and with Gigginstown winding down they could be a very prominent force in Irish racing from here on in.
They can’t compete on the flat anymore with the big guns but seem to be able to pick up top horses over jumps

Had a double on Chris’s Dream and Cyrname.

Backed Cyrname again to recoup losses, so pleased. The best thing though was Nicholl’s evisceration of Matt Chapman in the interview afterwards: “He was out of order. He’s a racing pundit, not a trainer, when it comes to training, he knows nothing”

Nice one on the win.

Nicholls loves to give it out, but doesn’t like it if anyone gives it back. Read his autobiography a few years back comes across as very arrogant. Great trainer mind when he’s got the horses.
Cyrname’s a funny one, Thought he was going to the top after beating Altior and can look a million dollars on the bridle but goes to pieces if he comes off it.

He is a great trainer. Not au fait enough to know about whether he’s arrogant. But Matt Chapman, I’m afraid, gets right up my nose. He IS arrogant, and obnoxious. He’s racing’s equivalent of a media shock jock - just a contrarian and motor mouth, always wrangling for controversy. It’s amusing when Gary or Ryan Moore are interviewed by him - they can barely disguise their disdain.

Sir Gerhard was very impressive in the bumper yesterday, already trimmed to 6/1 for cheltenham but it looks like it’ll take a very good one to beat him.

He is a great trainer, but can't take it back when he's happy to dish out. Look up his fallout with Clive Smith, who pumped a ton of cash into his yard.

Chapman is an act, he can also be pretty insightful in different circumstances, he knows the game and enjoys winding people up, like ruby walsh

There is another option. Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple.

Got to wonder what Joseph could go on to achieve given his age and clear talent!

Didn’t watch but saw the result this morning. While I’m sure Aidan’s pleased for Joseph, must rankle that one of the few races he hasn’t won he’s been touched off twice by him now.

Shame about Anthony Van Dyck, struggled after winning the Derby as most do but has just found his form again

Decided to have a real good punt on Dundalk over the winter, it's my favourite track to punt and I'm going to focus 80% of my effort onto that track whilst keeping an eye on the top end jumps racing.

Will throw my bets in here to track progress! I won't be counting BOG as I don't get it at the two bookies I can actually bet with, so only selected prices and points will count!

First two selections from today:

3:35 Hieroglyphic 2pt win 13/2 SkyBet
4:35 Munfallet 2pt win 10/1 SkyBet

For the 3:35 I like the shape of this race, the front two in the market are definitely major dangers but their recent efforts give me reason to believe they both might run below themselves today. Hieroglyphic is a filly who is improving and learning her job. She was a reasonable 2 year old last season and has taken a jump forward on the speed figures I collate this season. She ran a nice race last time out and seemed to wander about a bit in the straight, cheekpieces have been added for the first time and I expect this to bring about further improvement in her today.

In the 4:35 I just believe this lad is over priced. He's been running well enough recently and based upon my figures he is comfortably amongst the best of these, the pace of the race should be run to suit and I expect him to be up with the pace.

No joy today, but good luck with the rest, hope it goes well for you.

Looking forward to a couple of runners Thursday. I like The Big Breakaway for the RSA so hoping he starts well at Newbury. Also like the Elliott bumper horse at Thurles. Neither a great price, might do a double but probably just watch.

Just read the Elliott stable tour on sporting life, sounds like Glenglass is one for the future so will leave the double and just watch.

Edit: Well two non runners later....

Heads up here - a brilliant one hour film about P-C Boudot on Sky’s racing channel just finished.

I’m sure you watched, but if you didn’t, make the effort to do so on catchup t.v.  His brother in law thinks he’s the best jockey in the world right now. He might be right too.
