From Sportsworl: Return Flight Delays After The Match

Given that both teams are going through the same airport with nearly 14,000 supporters directly after the match, we expect delays. The operation of the airport is completely out of our control. The airport have a plan in place for departures after the match, which we hope works. However, given our experience of previous finals, this usually isn’t the case and long delays are possible.

If the airport fails to cope, they have asked all airlines to consider ‘Free Boarding’ , this where they fill planes as passengers arrive, even if it is not with the company or flight originally booked on. Again this would be out of our control if the airport authorise decide to do this.

Our aim is to inform you as much as possible on what you may or may not encounter following the match.

Well done UEFA. Ground not big enough, city can't cope with the accommodation needs and now the airport could be chaos.

I am beginning to feel happier now that i am getting on a coach after the match, rather than flying out of Kiev.

Ive thought about it and may do but the quickest way across the border is to walk across. Will look at trains though.

Wroclaw - Przemysl - Kiev. Only got 18 minute connection so have boxed a Lviv - Kiev the next morning if I miss it. Just need to get across the border on the Friday if so

I'm on the 13:10 which gets in to Lviv at 16:05 (an hour ahead in Lviv than Przemysl). Am then on the 6:07 Lviv to Kyiv on the saturday. Get into Kyiv about 11.

Sound mate looks like I’m getting on same train then. Gets into Kiev just after 11pm I think? I will get a slab of larger in as it’s 7hrs from Lviv

Hi all, have a coach innovations Warsaw - Kiev - warsaw ticket for sale. Booked to travel together but me Dad can’t travel due to medical issues. They’ve agreed to transfer name for free but no refund. Would have a flight but Lufthansa won’t allow a name change so that leg is stuffed! Priced at £159. Travelling without a match ticket but still hopeful. Feel free to share, hopefully can help someone out

Looking at a hotel for the night of Friday so I'm near to Liverpool John Lennon airport for Saturday morning.

The options I'm looking at (Z Hotel or Pullman Hotel), is the best way to get to the airport in the early hours an Uber? Is there a shuttle or something that might be a bit more cost effective from the city centre?

Any other cheap-ish hotel recommendations? Thanks!

edit: seems I can get a shuttle from the centre just need to figure out itinerary timings. If anyone has any hotel recommendations (or a discount plug!) please let me know

Taxi I would use delta taxis. If later you can get a train from central to Liverpool south parkway then a shuttle bus from there.

Are there no availability in the hotels by the airport?

You can have my home for the night. I will be in Kyiv but will leave my keys with a neighbour. Its pretty handy regarding the airport .Check your PM mate as sent you one a few hours ago.

For entering Turkey, yes - but you can get an e-visa online from the relevant Republic of Turkey Ministry at www.evisa.gov.tr.........you download the page and print it off directly - mine cost 20 USD. You can also get a visa on arrival for £20 cash - but, you may experience delays with this.

I’ve got this booking for a double/ two singles including breakfast going spare if anyone is interested. It’s non-refundable so I’m open to offers. Cost is £120 but will happily take less. The hotel is ok to change the names.

I've recently been to Turkey it costs around £14.

At Istanbul you had to go through security twice before getting airside. One before check in and one after
