They could line up with the following

                Thiago       Tolisso/Goretzka

                          Coutinho

      Gnabry                                    Coman

Would be a good fit, if Kovac can use him properly.

Good teams will waltz through that with ease. You'd need a Kante type to play Coutinho in midfield against good teams and Tolisso isn't that.

Perisic cost relatively nothing and Coutinho is a loan.  Either way you play him predominately on the left and it's an upgrade on what they had last year.  James and Coutinho are completely different players these days so it's not a like for like replacement there.  For the pace thing, Coutinho was fast enough for us.  I doubt that would change here and am unsure what else Bayern is supposed to do when the pace players they do target keep blowing out their knees.

Of course, but that's not something they'll come up against with in the Bundesliga on a regular basis.

Anyway, Pavard looked really clumsy there. Given how injury-prone Lucas is I wonder whether Bayern have been sold a dummy?

Nullfünfer, does Konaté have a clause cheaper or similar to Upamecano? Seems like a matter of when and not if Bayern will trigger such a clause for either of them if it carries on like this at the back. I don't think Süle is a CL-winner type of centre half to say the least either.

apparently he has a clause that comes into effect in 2022, if the reports from when he signed his new deal where true.  Not sure on the price, but you'd think it will be quite a figure!

Sounds like Upamecano to Bayern on 1 January then and Pavard becoming the second coming of Rafinha...

All they'd need to do after all would be to send €75 million* to Red Bull and there's nothing they can do.

Looking at that Bayern XI and subs bench, it must be one of the worst sides they've put out in recent years.

the starting XI should have been more than enough to win this comfortably. And even if they do win now, Kovac will get ripped apart for this, it'll just add fuel to the fire.

The bench is bizarrely shit though.

And it ends 2-2, great for Hertha (and for other teams too :D ).

Bayern have signed Mickaël Cuisance for 10 mill for Gladbach, which makes me sad  :'(

Just seems like a career killer of a move.  I hope I'm wrong. The lad has so much talent but has stalled a bit.

Today's Bundesliga fixtures:

Borussia Dortmund vs FC Augsburg
Bayer Leverkusen vs Paderborn 07
VfL Wolfsburg vs FC Köln
Werder Bremen vs Fortuna Düsseldorf
SC Freiburg vs Mainz 05

Late game:
Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Schalke 04

Looking forward to seeing Marco Rose's first game in charge of Gladbach, be interesting to see how they shape up. I'll probably watch some of the Freiburg - Mainz game too before and at half time of the Liverpool game  :P

Mainz started this game great, all over Freiburg. But now Freiburg getting more into it, and Luca Waldschmidt almost scored a spectacular goal for them, but an equally good save from Florian Müller.

Didn't get to see the game, but yeah shame for the result, and shame of who had to be their first home opposition in their first ever Bundesliga game. Just a pity the schedulers paired them with a team so far removed for all Union stand for.
