I wasn't a fan of Blade Runner 2049 either, but I know many other people loved it.
Not my favorite of 2022 (a close 2nd) but it was going to be my next pick.
Brilliant homage to Hong Kong Cinema too with a lot action sequences borrowed from Steven Chow films and having Wong Kar Wai Verse.

I was interested to read that the film was originally written with Jackie Chan in mind for the lead role. I'm glad they made the switch to a female lead with Michelle Yeoh. I can't picture it having the same impact without her. Love Chan though I do, I imagine it would have lost much of the emotional impact and gone more down the silly line.
