Im glad I didn't pick Grand Budapest Hotel now. Love that as well. Would have gone for until last week to be honest.

Noooo, the Grand Budapest Hotel. It would have been my first pick even though it’s not my number 1 movie of the decade, it’s a close second though. I can’t describe how much I adore that film. My face hurt from smiling the first time I watched it. Complete cinematic bliss.

Whiplash is an excellent pick. Probably one of the best-edited movies I have ever seen, and the performances are also great. The finale scene is something else.

Toy Story 3 is another great pick and a real tear-jerker. Probably my favourite one of the franchise.

Frankly I should have been able to pick it as my Crime choice, but letterboxd disagreed!

Think they’re both great but did enjoy Hugh Grant and Wayne Rooney Brendan Gleeson in this one.

And one of the few films I watched at the cinema this decade.

Both Padington's are great, but I enjoyed the second part a lot more. Probably because it was darker and more nuanced, without losing the warmth of the first one. Great pick.

Not my favorite of 2022 (a close 2nd) but it was going to be my next pick.

Brilliant homage to Hong Kong Cinema too with a lot action sequences borrowed from Steven Chow films and having Wong Kar Wai Verse.

Glad I made it then! Curious to see which your number 1 is.

I was interested to read that the film was originally written with Jackie Chan in mind for the lead role. I'm glad they made the switch to a female lead with Michelle Yeoh. I can't picture it having the same impact without her. Love Chan though I do, I imagine it would have lost much of the emotional impact and gone more down the silly line.

I know some won't like it (like Betty ). I didn't have much expectations for it when I saw it initially but it's brilliantly shot and gorgeous to look at and can be viewed as a self contained story if you want. However, it does take some of the themes from the first one and takes them to different and interesting places. I love it, obviously but it doesn't look like it's going to be a popular choice . Fair enough, but this era's great for Sci-Fi, can think of a few others I would have really wanted had someone else picked this one.
