Cheers mate, agreed 100% with your point, I've never seen such a collective refusal to criticise any part of the team, we could learn from that (hopefully before people start to lay into Kuyt again a couple of weeks from now)

One of the Braga lads has asked me if I've seen the goal Mossoró (the 700k record signing) scored against Benfica at the weekend. I hadn't but I just found it on youtube. It's well worth a look...

Cheers for that mate.  Almost as good as Dirk's third that - and he looked almost as pleased ;)

Alan is the dangerous Braga player. Mossoró is good too. Their defense is not really good. ;)

Nice one Slick. Good to find out a bit more about them before the match on thursday. Could be a tough tie over the two legs.

P.S. Got my ticket, so won't be needing the ropes for plan B - abseiling!

Hi there, Liverpool fans!

First of all, sorry about sorry english. Do what I can ;D.

Second, please ignore Benfica fans (and Porto and Sporting too). We hate them because our football league association and media (papers, radio, TV, etc.) are a bloody shame, always fighting in order to one of this clubs to be champion.

Third, and really important: we are a very nice club, in a very nice city, with very nice people. I'm sure you will be welcome to Braga! I'll be in Liverpool with 5 more people for the second leg and, of course, I hope Braga to pass but playing with a club like yours is a privilege and a price for our club and fans (probably, we'll be a thousand fans in Anfield, I hope).

Btw, I enjoyed your victory against the dirty scum bastards last Sunday!
In England, I always liked Liverpool and Newcastle because of the fans. I hope to sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" with your amazing fans in Anfield in the second leg.
-----------------------------------

Here you have some videos and photos about our club:

This one is a video of an away game of Braga last season. We were 8.000 Braga fans in a away game in Figueira da Foz (300 km from Braga):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B0rMZLQ0tY

This is another away game of the last season in Leiria (350 km from Braga). We were 7.000 fans:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf1O__h2FWg

Note that this is historical in Portugal since we just have fans in Braga (we are maybe 50 or 60 thousand Braga fans, not much) In Portugal, there are much strange things and one of them is that someone born 500 km far from Lisbon or Oporto usually will be a Benfica, Porto or Sporting fan. It's something we're fighting against in Braga and we're doing it!

Márcio Mossoró's goal last Sunday against Benfica jerks ;D:

Anything you want to know about the club, the city or the fans, ask. I'll be happy if I can help!
We'll be very welcome in Braga and I'm sure you'll not regret if you travel to our beautiful city to see the game.

I understand, but you had no need to do what you did last Sunday!

Nice post mate, stay in the forum! ;)

In order to be champions or to be runners-up like last season, we've to fight against Porto, Benfica, Sporting, Porgtuguese League Association, TV, newspapers, radios, everything! The corruption rules and a small club like ours cannot have to many hopes. But we believe!

Just another thing: I was in your stadium last year and I had not been treated with respect!
But I agree, let's stop it.

Abraço e boa sorte com o PSG (ao contrário do que nos desejas).

I would like to direct all the moaning kneejerkers on here to their answer to question 6.  Support.

Very good point, very admirable and refreshing attitude.

Question for Diogo:
What do Braga fans think about your players constantly diving and faking injury?
Portuguese teams are the worst for this and I have always wanted to know what the fans think about it and why they tolerate it?

Very good point, very admirable and refreshing attitude.

Question for Diogo:
What do Braga fans think about your players constantly diving and faking injury?
Portuguese teams are the worst for this and I have always wanted to know what the fans think about it and why they tolerate it?

I think it's ridiculous. I don't know why portuguese players do that. Probably, because our football is more based in technique, something like that. Just can't understand... In fact, the players you see doing that were probably Ronaldo and Nani (I hate them).

In Portugal, in the majority of the matches, there are about 40/50 fouls because the minimum contact between players is foul for a referee and if it is a Porto, Benfica or Sporting player, our players can't just touch them. Why? I don't know. In portuguese league match, there are between 40 or 50 usefull (playable) minutes, that's ridiculous. Our football league sucks because of that, I hope it will be better soon.

I like english football because the matches are much more intense and there are no unnecessary interrumptions. Maybe, it is a question of culture. You'll see our players falling sometimes and the referee will give us a foul but probably it would not be given there, in England.

If you want to know more about the club, city or fans, say it please.

Thanks to the Braga lads who replied and hello to those that have posted in the thread :)

Really looking forward to seeing the atmosphere the Braga fans will create with the travelling Kop. Should be electric.

Just some proves of the discrimination of clubs other than the "big three".

In Portugal there are 3 sports newspapers: one that supports Benfica, one that supports Porto and other (gess what) that support Sporting.

There are 3 main sports TV shows, each one have a Benfica fan, a Porto fan and a Sporting fan.

Last Sunday, a Benfica player was sent off here in Braga:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvoBeZueXS4&feature=related - Of course, our player (Alan) take advantage from the situation, however, there is an agression.

Jorge Jesus (Benfica's coach - bastard) said that Javi Garcia was sent off because he had sufered a foul and in the sport newspaper supporting Benfica website, they posted this video and there it is for 3 days (!!!) saying Jesus was right (they have choosen an angle where people just can't see Javi Garcia's left arm):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSdCYgYXsiU

How can we fight against this, I don't know!
They just make the truth like they want.

The city is entusiastic with the visit of a club like yours, I'm sure you'll be welcome!

Unfortunately, Braga is a city which lives mainly from comercial activity in the center of the city and in shopping centers. Since the game is tomorrow at 18:00 (working day and hour), maybe we'll have just 10.000 or 15.000 fans in the stadium and people arriving late or to see only the second half. :-\

You don't imagine how we are hating UEFA right now! :-\

Our songs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B0rMZLQ0tY - "Desde pequeno, eu vou à bola" - min 5:50 to min 6:40 (this is a away game 300 km from Braga, we were 8.000 fans)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amzMmQK-V44 - "Mágico Braga" - (this is a game in Oporto against Porto, we were 5.000 fans)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4p33NBOBco - Our anthem

Some of the recent best moments of our club:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHBcM7ncbtQ - First time we had the Champions League anthem in our stadium against Sevilla after eliminating Celtic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTq2VAhdxAg - Our first goal in Sevilla (we were 2.500 fans there)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suXNG_gjuuI&feature=related - These are our fans that could not go to Sevilla, waiting for the team in Oporto airport (50 km from Braga)

Sevilla , Celtic and Arse at home , not a bad side by any means. We need to be on our game to beat these over two legs. If we play like we did against Sparta , we will be bowing out.

Diogo-scb is it true that the concourse in the ground is under the pitch?

Yes, that's true, there is a concourse under the pitch but who wants to let the car there must pay for it in the beginning of the season. There is also a concourse close to the cover of a stand.

The stadium has only two stands (15.000 each). My season card is for the stand which lies on the side of the old quarry. To go to this stand, we have two options: we can enter in the East Stand and then pass under the pitch or we can enter close to the cover of the West Stand and then go downstairs by the stairs, which lie in the interior of the stand and where you can see one of the faces of the quarry (the other one, you can see from the stand where Liverpool fans will be).

Here you can see the East Stand (frome where the picture was taken and where Liverpool fans will assist to the match) and the West Stand fitted in the old quarry:

Epilogue...

Just got back from Braga. Thanks to the lovely* Maria (Maria_SCB) I ended up meeting a load of people off the superbraga forum, despite only signing up to it last week to do this spyin' kop. I have to say they are all absolutely top class. Some of the most genuine and hospitable people I've met. If we ever play Braga away again, and I hope we do, would urge any rawkites to go, as you are missing out otherwise.
