Personally I would play Neco at RB to give TAA a rest, especially if the big shiny thing is sorted by then.. Gomez has potential to be truly great at CB.. So I would let him continue to hone his skills there.. Imagine Gomez in 2 years time.. Could well be among the best in the world..

Think he's taken a step up/forwards in terms of aerial ability this season. Seems more aggressive and successful. Might be a factor of strikers playing off him rather than Virg, I guess - but looks this way to my eye.

A bit harsh to say he lost him. He set up a half a yard in front to defend the space Raul might have attacked. The ball in was just too accurate unfortunately.

Seeing quite a bit over analysing of the goal we conceded yesterday, which is understandable, given how few we have conceded until yesterday. But the goal was a very good one and there's not a lot we could have done better really.

As I said in another thread they forced us in to a number of marginal decisions. Gini presses because Jiminez is making a chest pass, unfortunately it was perfect. Robbo presses but can't go for man and ball because he is on a yellow. Then Virg commits to cutting Traore off but there is enough weight on the pass to drag Virg out wide. Then Traore gets in to a great position in which the ball in between the defensive line and the keeper is the big danger.

Gomez covers that and then they combine a perfect cross with a decisive header. We played the percentages and they pulled off a perfect execution. It happens.

The goal we conceded - it was a case of a series of things working out in favour of Wolves. Robbo diving in but losing out to Jimenez opened us up. Virgil was ready to put on his afterburner to go after Traore but hesitated because I believe he was not sure whether he can get to him on time  or not because of Traore’s pace. With Virgil in no man’s land. Joe made his run more towards the near post. Perfect cross from Traore. Perfect run by Jimenez. Nothing much could have been done. If anything I would have wanted AA to pick up Jimenez run and make it difficult for Jimenez to get a clean header

Nonetheless. Big Joe. 22. What a signing. What a player we have on our hands. I have said it many times - we are blessed with 4 central defenders that are all better than Harry Maguire. Big Joe and Big Virg is our no 1 centreback partnership

TAA could not have done it. There was a player on his side that was free if Traore had pulled the ball back.

Both Gomez and TAA was in line with the ball and they were all out of position as VVD was dragged to engage Traore.
