Can I cheat and have more than one?

1. Best Player - Between Van Dijk or Mane for me. Van Dijk was just class all season and I haven't ever seen a defender as good as him ever in Liverpool shirt. Hyypia comes close but Van Dijk is as good as as Hyypia and is quicker and better on the ball than Hyypia was. Same for any other defender I've seen, whatever they excelled at, Van Dijk pretty much matches that and then excels at everything else. The closest I've seen from clips and hearing other people describe him is Hansen and given the esteem he's held in, Van Dijk might even be in that company (auld arse would know more about that). Mane's stepped up again this season, basically no one's beating him for acceleration from a standing start and he's scored so many important goals this season, probably the most from the squad (?). The more I think about it, the more I think he meant to kick the ball against Sissoko's arm in the Champions League final. The only criticism, if it is one is that his finishing can occasionally be erratic (sounds ridiculous I know given he was top scorer in the league) like the Napoli game at Anfield but in Klopp's words, he's a mentality monster and it doesn't affect him, he scored the first against Man Utd the weekend after that Napoli game.

I think Van Dijk just edges it because of his transformative effect on the team has had more impact than any other individual player I can think of.

2. Best Young Player - Alexander Arnold. Best right back in Europe at 20, a ridiculous number of assists and can't think of many (any) full backs who is as dangerous as him, possibly Alba is up there and our very own Robertson definitely very much is. Gomez had an awesome start to the season where he was as good as Van Dijk in the opening few months but given he missed virtually half the season, it's got to be Alexander-Arnold who got better and better as the season progressed, and he was bloody good to begin with.

3. Best Signing - Alisson. I was pretty happy with Karius but Alisson is a level above him in every aspect and like Van Dijk, seems to have a positive impact on those around him. Another mentality monster (the whole team is really) who can put a mistake behind him immediately. Like Klopp said, he makes ridiculous things look easy and I suppose his highlights reel might not be as showy as others but he just knows where to position himself to do so.

4. Best Goal - Technically, it's Mane's first against Bayern, amazing control and then loved the cuteness to finish the way he did. Another important goal from him too.

Special mentions for Salah's thumper against Chelsea (there's an angle of it from behind the dugout which is the best one I've seen and it's a brilliant shot of the ball going in), Mane's backheel against Watford (loved how he got that power on it and how he hit into the ground first which basically made it impossible for Forster to save although marks deducted for the initial mis-control), Firmino's shimmy, dummy and left foot finish past Arsenal and Sturridge's against Chelsea in the league (glad he got the European Cup with us, he's still one of the most talented players I've seen play for us and hopefully he'll still have a good finish to his career )

5. Best Performance - Barcelona at home, obviously. To do what we did is still difficult to believe given the circumstances and the opposition yet all the same it seems perfectly reasonable given what this club is. Another chapter in our history as Europe Mentality Monsters (again!) to go alongside Olympiakos, Chelsea, Juventus, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Dortmund, Man City and Roma amongst others and my favourite game under Klopp.

6. Best Moment. Got a few:

In terms of goals:

Origi's goal against Everton, probably the best and funniest single moment I've seen.

Origi's winner against Barcelona. Genius from Alexander-Arnold and Origi made a really a finish into the top corner look easy. I think I was stunned for the rest of the game and only got back to normal when the final whistle blew.

Origi's winner in the final, quality finish too, got himself back onside from the corner, controlled it perfectly to set himself up and gave Lloris no chance. And it sealed the Champions League for us and made Origi a legend for life (As if the Barcelona game didn't do that already!).

Non-goals:

Alisson coming out at home to Brighton and lifting the ball over Knockaert. 'What a fun season this is going to be'.

Alisson's save against Milik in the final minute against Napoli. Was bracing myself for us getting knocked out but Alisson's save is up there with Gerrard's goal against Olympiakos.

Wijnaldum tricking three Barcelona players because he's brilliant.

Van Dijk bossing Son in the 76th minute of the final, like he was playing on a cheat code.

Robertson being a shithouse and pissing off Messi in the first minute at Anfield.

Henderson lifting the European Cup. The whole squad deserved it for having a brilliant season and everyone's been boss, even players who aren't regular starters for us have come into the side and had contributed. Henderson's been here since the beginning and was bought alongside Adam and Downing and has had to fight through not only other fans ridiculing him but our own too. Moreso since Klopp arrived and we've been getting better and better and people were questioning him having no place in Klopp's side and how other players should get the captaincy. This despite no indication from Klopp that he had anything other 100% faith in him. So to see him lift the trophy and be talked about as a European Cup winning captain makes me happy.

And Klopp winning the European Cup for us, from where we were to where he's taken us, he didn't need a trophy but I'm so happy he got to win the biggest one of all to have something tangible to show for it.

to be honest player, young player, signing and performance are pretty redundant awards this year.

Any person that goes against the answers above is just being a hipster.

Best Player? - VVD the standout for sure.

Best Young Player? - Trent. Says a lot that I don't really think of him as a "young player" now because he's so established in the team.

Best Signing? - Alisson

Best Goal? - Sturridge against Chelsea.

Best Perfomance? - The annihilation of Barcelona.

Best Moment? - Either Origi's goal against Everton or Origi's goal against Madrid. Obviously the goal against Madrid has far more significance, but the one against Everton came when the game was dead and gone and also provided a moment that'll play on their minds for the next 10 years.

Best Player - Big Virg - may well cap it off with the Balon D’or

Best Young Player - Trent. No contest

Best Signing - Alisson, with an honorary mention to Fabinho. Both have transformed us into a winning machine

Best Goal - there’s been a fair few, but Mo’s rocket against Chelsea to ram the events of the Thursday before back down their throats was special.

Best Performance - has to be the 4-0 Barca. Mentions need to go to the 3-1 in Munich, and also how well we played in defeat in the Nou Camp

Best Moment - Hendo finally get his richly deserved moment lifting number 6. A huge banner on the Kop to follow I hope

1. Best Player? Van Dijk - rock solid at the back, a force at the front too

2. Best Young Player? Trent Alexander-Arnold.. what an unbelievable season he had

3. Best Signing? Alisson - crucial saves at times including v Burnley, a miracle save that stopped it being 2-2.. we ended up winning 3-1

4. Best Goal? The 1st goal in Munich, a great assist by Virgil but great work by Mane to finish

5. Best Performance? 4-0 v Barcelona but special mention to the 3-1 win in Munich considering our awful away record in the group stages

6. Best Moment? The corner from Trent for the winner v Barcelona (I was too busy watching big Virg coming up to see the genius from my spec in the Kop)

Thought I’d resurrect this seeing as we went on to win the League afterwards, so hopefully next year we’ll win some more silverware ;)

An unforgettable season for various reasons, picking up 3 trophies :champ :champ :champ along the way, including the one we all wanted! And as I write this, we are the current English, European and World Champions 8)

1. Best Player? Mane

2. Best Young Player? Trent

3. Best Signing? Klopp’s contract extension

4. Best Goal? Salah v City

5. Best Performance? 4-0 v Leicester

6. Best Moment? Seeing the players celebrating together after the Chelsea v City game, especially seeing as it was kept under wraps and of course the Hendo shuffle!

7. When you felt the League was done? Stood in the away end after beating Bournemouth and celebrating with the players, you could just tell they were locked in and determined to do it. Then on the train home hearing that City had lost... thankfully we didn’t let up!

1. Best Player? Mane. Very close call between him, Virg and Henderson. Saw somewhere that Mane's goals led directly to 18 points this season. So you could make a (really shit) argument he won us the league.

2. Best Young Player? Trent is the correct and pretty much only answer.

3. Best Signing? Think it will prove to be Elliot.

4. Best Goal? Really tough one. Salah vs Newcastle, purely because of Bobby's flick, Salah vs Salzburg away - from the corner flag, Trent's vs Leicester - this team summed up perfectely, Ox vs Genk (I think), Fab and Salah vs City... I just love that Bobby flick for the Newcastle one though, and it was the first that came to mind, so that's my answer.

5. Best Performance? 4-0 v Leicester

6. Best Moment? Salah vs United. The moment when collectively we decided it was ok to sing we'd won it. The closest we'll get to seeing players and fans celebrating the league until they actually do. A moment of pure joy & relief.

7. When you felt the League was done? Coming out of the cinema to find City had lost 3-2 to wolves. I can't remember exactly what the gap was at that point - I think it was 14, but that just removed any small, lingering doubt.

1. Best Player? So many candidates here but got to be Hendo. Our record without him is in stark contrast to that with him. Hopefully he’s ready to go day one next season

2. Best Young Player? Trent. No brainer but don’t really look at him as a youngster anymore but he obviously is!

3. Best Signing? Minamino - will prove it next year

4. Best Goal? Quite a few but for the timing early in the season and the fixture I liked Trents free kick away at Chelsea

5. Best Performance? 4-0 v Leicester away. Was an unbelievable performance at a time when Leicester were flying and we’d just been to Qatar. To beat them in the manner we did caught us all off guard but was terrific to watch

6. Best Moment? To save repeating what many will say With the league of course I’m going to go for the club World Cup win. Many degraded it and weren’t interested but having been able to travel and witness it first hand it’s something I’ll remember for a long time. After the event I think many more were interested in it as it was clearly huge for the club and the players

7. When you felt the League was done? Utd at home. The crowd knew it too. Could easily have mo’s goal there as best moment or best goal. And the celebration after was really a sign we were going to do it

1. Best Player? Sadio

2. Best Young Player? Trent

3. Best Signing? No one really came in and Minamino hasn't had a chance to make a real impact so I'm just going to say how delighted I am that Danny Ings has done so well for Southampton.

4. Best Goal? Bobby's flick to Salah vs Newcastle at Anfield.

5. Best Performance? Leicester away.

6. Best Moment? Salah getting the second against Man Utd and the crowd defiantly singing about winning the league, huge outpouring of emotion all round.  We all knew at that point.

*19/20 template below*

1. Best Player?
Mane - Always in the action and looking lively.

2. Best Young Player?
Trent - So good people have stopped putting him in the category of a youngster

3. Best Signing?
Adrian pretty much the only choice, and despite the poor weeks before lockdown he was really good for us the start of the season when needed. A clever bit of business.

4. Best Goal?
Curtis Jones vs Everton in the cup

5. Best Performance?
Leicester - and to be precise TAA, he was involved in the first 3 goals and then sealed it with his own. Just none stop all night against one of the best left backs in the league

6. Best Moment?
Every win!

7. When you felt the League was done?
When City imploded vs Wolves
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Best Player? Hendo
Best Young Player? Trent
Best Signing? Klopp adding to his contract deal.
Best Goal? Fab's goal against City, an honourable mention to Origi's against Everton. That Salah goal where he put it in from the corner flag almost.  :o
Best Performance? Leicester 0 Liverpool 4. Coming after Qatar that whole game was amazing, in fact the whole of the Christmas period was fantastic.
Best Moment? Naturally getting the title, Hendo's shuffle.
When you felt the league was won? The United game and the way the whole ground sang afterwards was proof of it.

1. Best Player?

Could be one of many. Pre-injury Fabinho was a class apart. Mane has been incredible, Trent is the best young player in the world, Hendo is a leader. But it’s Virgil. Just world class in every respect and one of our all time greats.

2. Best Young Player?

Trent.

3. Best Signing?

Adrian. He didn’t have a great 2020, but he was in goal for most of our early season unbeaten run that set the tone for the year.

4. Best Goal?

Off the top of my head Trents free kick at Chelsea just had something. The whip, the confidence. Or obviously Fabinho against City.

5. Best Performance?

Leicester away was something else. Probably the most destructive display I’ve seen. Special mention for some of our attacking play in the second half of the Southampton game. Again, some of the best football I’ve seen.

6. Best Moment?

Probably when Willian’s penalty went in to be fair...

7. When you felt the League was done?

Weird one, but when we came back at Villa at the death. Everything in that game went against us but we still won. It felt like our year.

1. Best Player? Sadio but Hendo, VVD, Mo, Trent....well everyone has been great

2. Best Young Player? Don’t really class Trent as a youngster so Curtis

3. Best Signing? Adrian

4. Best Goal? Bobby against Leicester (2nd)

5. Best Performance? 4-0 v Leicester

6. Best Moment? Alisson sliding up to Mo vs United was great but how could you say anything other than Hendo walking up and lifting the PL

7. When you felt the League was done? Probably the Leicester game again. That looked such a tough game for so many reasons and we obliterated them. Couldn’t see anyone catching us after that

Best Player? Sadio Mane. I think it's close between him, Henderson and van Dijk personally

Best Young Player? Trent Alexander Arnold without question. Unbelievable talent. Think he better than Gerrard at the same age. That says everything you need to know about his performances over the last 3 years,

Best Signing? From a new player perspective, at this moment it's probably Adrian given the impact he had early on. In the long run I think it will be viewed as being Harvey Elliott.

Best Goal? Salah versus Newcastle. Brilliant interplay between them. The Robertson goal at home against RB Salzburg was an absolute peach as well.

Best Performance? I think the Palace game at home. Battered them 4-0 in the 1st home game after the lockdown. Strange circumstances that the team would not be accustomed too but the intensity of the performance from the 1st minute to the 90th epitomised this team.

Best Moment? Most emotional moment was the Willian penalty. Best Liverpool moment was probably the 5-2 v Everton. Though the 1-0 in the FA Cup was very special too.

When you felt the league was won? The United game was when I was 99.9% sure pre-covid19. The Everton away game was the game I knew we'd definitely win the league. Getting the games restarted was huge. Even with games behind closed doors, getting those moments over the last 4-6 weeks has been special. Particularly the night we won it when Chelsea beat City. None of that would have been possible if the league wasn't restarted.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

1. Best Player?
The fact there are so many different answers being given shows how lucky we are, but I'd probably say overall that it's Mane.

2. Best Young Player?
Trent.

3. Best Signing?
Adrian.

4. Best Goal?
Mo v Newcastle or Mo v City (or Mo v Salzburg away, bit of a theme here...)

5. Best Performance?
Leicester away.

6. Best Moment?
On a personal level, that moment after Mo's goal v Man Utd, being on the Kop and singing We're Gonna Win the League with such belief was just pure joy. Otherwise, seeing the players celebrate when Chelsea beat City, and obviously the trophy lift.

7. When you felt the League was done?
For feeling as sure as I would let myself, probably Man Utd at home.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

1. Best Player? Though question, but I'd go with Virgil

2. Best Young Player? Trent

3. Best Signing? Adrian, was crucial early in the season

4. Best Goal? Maybe because it's fresh, but Naby against Chelsea

5. Best Performance? Leicester away. Against Salzburg also worth a mention

6. Best Moment? Chelsea beating Manchester City

7. When you felt the League was done? When we beat City 3-1
