The Smiths were shite, but Johnny Marr is decent

They both went in high, that's factually correct, both tried to play the ball at height.  Doku with his foot, Mac Allister with his chest.

Guinness is a terrible drink bolstered by an amazing marketing campaign and cod Oirish nostalgia. It's like drinking dishwater and the after effects the following morning should alert you to its true nature.

I can’t drink it anymore due to health issues, but it’s not bad at all. To me drinking Guinness is like having your first beer again. The first one isn’t very nice, nor are the first few but the more you drink it the better it tastes, it really does grow on you.

If you need 3 or 4 to acquire the taste of it, it's not a very good drink. I ain't got the time, money, or alcohol tolerance any more for that shit.

Unless you've had a good pint of Guinness in a proper Irish pub you're not allowed comment on it's niceness.

If it requires very specific circumstances that only represents a minority of situations in which it is drunk to be Good, thats pretty damning of its overall quality.

No, not true. It's like saying you need to have the real thing and not some knock-off to actually be able to talk about the quality.

You think I'm not Irish or something?  :D Spent my college years working in pubs. And no matter how often the Guinness rep would clean the pipes, or we changed out the gas or changed kegs, it would always be same.

Do you want to know how much Guinness marketing holds a sway on pubs and drinkers? The two pour technique hasn't been necessary for at least 50 years. Yet barmen still religiously do the old fill it 80% way, leave to settle and top up two minutes later. Used to do it myself. Very proud of my pour I was. Makes zero difference to the taste or the head.

More blasphemy. If the head of your Guinness isn't sticking to your glass as rings after every sup you're drinking a shite Guinness. They are the facts. I know you're Irish, your pubs just had shit Guinness. Get yourself a proper one  ;D

Guinness is perfect for a daytime pint or four when you don’t want anything too fizzy.

That’s exactly how I came to start drinking it, I would have a couple a day. By the end of the week I had acquired the taste for it. But after a long gap it went back to tasting not particularly great.

I reckon Guinness is one of the safer pints you can order. Even in the grottiest dingiest pubs, where their best lager tastes like the lines have never been cleaned, the Guinness can at least be relied upon to taste good
