Im just gonna turn up on the day and look for tickets outside, have done that for the past 5 years.

Just worried that with this being the 25th year there will be a lot more people with the same idea.

Why don't you go to Goodison instead?

The last thing we need is a gang of people without tickets outside the service.  This had nothing to do with the causes of Hillsborough, but there might be those looking for photo opportunities to smear our fans again

Because i have been going to Anfield for about 10 years now don't want to change that and pay my respects at Goodison.

I think they will open more stands like they did for the 20th Anniversary.

If anybody ends up with any spares grateful if they could drop me a PM. Cocked up this year, forgot my youngest lad was on half term so will be able to go. I wrote to his headmaster last year and asked him to let him have the afternoon off. Anyway if anybody has one or even better two tickets they wont be using give us a shout. Live in Anfield anyway so can meet, if not will walk down to Woodison.

Does anyone have any idea if the service is completely "sold out" or if they just stopped processing tickets at the end of March for some reason. Know quite a few people who want to go but didn't get tickets and seems a shame if there will be loads of empty spaces that weren't processed in time.

Just heard that there's a programme on 5 live about how survivors and witnesses were, and still are, affected by the disaster. Talking about their stories and the events of that day.

9pm this Monday (14th).

They said right at the start tickets would be available till march 31st, guess its for stewarding reasons, wasn't that the reason given for ticketing in the first place, that they needed to plan knowing how many people were coming?

Have a spare ticket for tomorrow's service, unreserved seating in Centenary, can meet outside ground 2.00-2.15, don't use forum much so contact on twitter better, but will look in again this evening.

Seat has gone

According to lfc.tv the memorial service at Anfield is from 2.40 pm - 3.10 pm. I might be wrong but aren't they usually a little bit longer? Or perhaps I've misunderstood the schedule.

Due to the Inquests and the restrictions around them, they are only showing 'live' coverage between those times.  They are showing the service in full later on (at 6pm and 9:30pm IIRC) I guess that's so they can edit anything in the speeches etc that might be deemed as dodgy re:the guidelines laid down by LJG.

It is so wrong that people cannot get tickets for this - a lot of people don't even know you need them - and others often are not sure if they want to attend until a lot nearer the event.

Can you imagine if you are a survivor and have travelled a long way to attend only not to be allowed in?

I'm sure there are reasons that can be made to sound as plausible as they need to but this isn't rocket science is it? The whole ticketing thing came about in anticipation of much greater interest and demand at the time of the 20th anniversary.

Five years later it should be REALLY simple.

"Hmmm. At least as many as came to the 20th will come to the 25th ergo let's plan to open up pretty much the whole ground, steward on that basis and just open the doors. Tickets not required, just monitoring of numbers coming in......"

Or is that too idealistic of me? :(

I really hope nobody tomorrow ends up being turned away.

Rest in Peace. I hope the families get the peace of mind they deserve.

This is so so saddening to watch. I don't know why, but the occasion has got to me more than usual as I'm 25 now too. A moment that happened when I was just a few months old but still will resonate with us all forever.

Justice for the 96.

edit; only the first part was shown. The full service is to be shown on LFCTV at 6pm and 9.30pm due to the reporting restrictions from the inquest.

Class speech from Andy Burnham MP. I remember him being wheeled out five years ago as that toad Gordon Brown rejected the chance to speak considering he was pretty willing to go along with the Murdoch lies just like Bliar. In fairness to Burnham, he always spoke up for them and it wasn't his fault he got booed five years ago - the boos were for the establishment and the Murdoch arse lickers.

Get him in as Labour leader over that caviar gorging snivelling twat Miliband.
