Mark Frost is also writing a Twin Peaks novel that will bridge the gap between season two and the upcoming third.

It's due out towards the end of the year.

Was Dewey from Scream based on deputy Andy by any chance? The music from Scream 2 especially is very twin peaks

That's a good point that. They are similar in some respects. Have any of the other cast been confirmed as of yet?

I just hope they don't bring Sheryl Lee back as Maddie again.

I'm guessing Lynch's phone is boiling hot from all the calls he'll be getting of pushy actors trying to get their agents to get them cast. I'd hope to see Madchen Amick back, she is the most beautiful woman ever. (Aside of Uma Thurman that is).

Would also like to see Big Ed and Hawk back. The Horne brothers would be nice too.

I just hope they don't start casting fucking teenybopping wannabe's with big tits and with unnamed famous uncle/auntie producers in their pocket. Aside of a few bummers, the casting on Twin Peaks was spot on; this time around Lynch (And Casting Director), will have so much shit to wade through...

No other cast members have been confirmed, but Sheryl Lee looks extremely likely.  More likely to be playing Laura than Maddie I'd of thought, Maddie was a pretty inconsequential character, I suppose both could be floating around the lodge though.

Madchen Amick and Lynch are still really good friends, she did some work for the Twin Peaks Bluray set, so I'd imagine she'll play a part.  I suppose we'll know more once Frost's book is out.

Spoiler
Bob/Leland killed her and drove around town with her in the trunk, whistling a happy tune.  Coop and Sheriff Truman pulled him over because he was arsing about on the road, Leland was about to twonk Cooper over the head with a golf club when they got a call and left.

She really was a pointless character.

Ahh, yes, of course. I agree, she was. She (Sheryl Fenn) was well cupping someone's balls.

Shame that Lynch had to chuck in cliffhangers like that, goes to show how unsure they were about getting renewed.

Aye, Sherilyn Fenn.  After tying that Cherry stalk in a knot I'd never confuse her with anyone.

This is starting to take shape now, don't know how Bobby will fit in though.  He looks like a young David Cronenberg now, a mess and of white hair.

I reckon towards the end if the year we should all have a Twin Peaks rewatch in preparation.

I actually watched it through for the first time a couple months back after hearing it was returning. Had been meaning to watch it for a while but that gave me an extra push.
Great show, will be interesting to see how this new season turns out.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a mixture of things mate. I can't remember where I read it, but I do remember reading that she turned into a bit of a party animal after the fame she got on Twin Peaks. She was with Jack Nicholson for a while and we've all heard the stories of how Jack likes to party.

Spent the past week going through this for the first time, not much to add to this thread that hasn't already been said really; 1st season's phenomenal, 2nd starts off great but dips hard after a certain point before finishing off with an amazing finale, and I desperately hope the return's worth the wait, because I've got a fuckload of unanswered questions.

Found it utterly bizarre watching it for the first time and seeing familiar faces in what must have been some of their first roles, nearly fell off the couch when Duchovny showed up.

If Donna's coming back, I wonder if they'll get Moira Kelly in to play her, rather than Lara Flynn Boyle. Lara was with Kyle McLachlan for a bit (allegedly insisting that Cooper and Audrey never hooked up as she was too jealous of Sherilyn Fenn), and she's apparently not the easiest person in the world to work with (plus, as noted above, she looks a right mess these days).

When Dana Ashbrook confirmed, he said he'd been talking to Sherilyn Fenn on the phone, and she's in too, so I guess that's Audrey unofficially confirmed as well.

I watched the International Pilot/film that was made.

Oh my god, that ending. That is quality gold. I'm not convinced that David Lynch directed that last segement, you could see the motorstops on the cuts and everything. It was like the scenes were literally done in a day.

Just finished watching the series for the first time.

Undoubtedly one of the most, if not the most, bizarre things I've ever watched. Equal parts entertaining, witty, scary and mind bending.

I have to put it up there with my favourite ever shows now. As has been mentioned, there was a noticeable dip in quality after Leland's death. It picked up again in the final episodes though.

I'm sure most of what I want to say has already been covered so I'll just condense it down to three thoughts;

1. Cooper is one of the best characters of all time. Television, films, whatever...
2. I never once grew tired of those same few pieces of music.
3. Donna Hayward. And all the rest of the girls, but mainly Donna.

The return of Twin Peaks is up in the air again.  The scripts are finished but when asked about it's progress Lynch was unsure that it would definitely happen citing complications.

Hopefully it's just posturing.

Damn. I've only just finished with the show (see above) and I was so up for a new series. Hopefully it gets resolved.

One thing that will be weird about a new series is them shooting it with modern equipment. The archaic aspect ratio and such all added to the atmosphere for me.

Just a heads up, HMV are selling the 'Gold Box' for £11.99, well at least they are in Bristol.  Ridiculously cheap for both seasons, including both pilots, and plenty of extras.

Apparently the snag was financial, Lynch and Frost wanted a bigger backend deal regarding dvd/bluray sales.

Kyle MacLachlan was interviewed last week and said that there were still a few things to iron out, but he was very confident of it happening.  If the sets are up I can't see it falling through now.

I recently finished (see my earlier post) watching for the first time.

Just a heads-up. There's a few very weak episodes in the middle of the second series. In my opinion at least. Keep watching though, as it returns to it's best shortly afterwards.
