I like the first team better, mainly because it looks to have better natural balance. Your second side doesn't have any natural wide players, even Robben who nominally starts out on the wing, has a trade mark of cutting inside onto his left foot. Unlike Mane, who genuinely is comfortable going outside or in, even as right footed player playing on the left. And De Boer and Zanetti offer support out side too, particular De Boer (even whilst not being an attacking fullback like say Robertson is). I would worry about Makelele being left on his own but would justify it by saying Van Dijk and Koulibaly would be so high up that it wouldn't matter, especially with Reina behind them.
Mane's a great pick by the way, he's been an unbelievable player for us.
