Keep getting "Fix Ethernet Doesn’t Have A Valid IP Configuration Error In Windows" problem.

I've tried using these fixes https://whatsabyte.com/windows/fix-ethernet-doesnt-have-a-valid-ip-configuration-error-in-windows/ which help but after a couple of days I get the same problem.

Its not the router as my other laptop works fine.

Gets shut down. I'm trying a different cable at the moment as I've just noticed the old one was CAT5 so perhaps that was the problem.

There’s no issue using CAT5 cables, but no harm in trying an alternative cable.

Try reserving a fixed IP for the pc in your router. It must be within the DHCP range of the router , normally something like 192.168.0.2 to 192.169.0.199.

Which one of those fixes temporarily sorts the problem? My first thought is that Windows is finding an updated but incorrect driver which is causing the ethernet adapter to flake out, and then you're fixing it but Windows then notes again the 'wrong' driver and goes to update again.

Changing the cable seems to have sorted it,so I'm assuming that perhaps there was a shitty connection on the other one.

Who is your ISP?

I'd phoned them and they tested the line.

Yeah, I've heard that one before. But they only test the line there and then and can't account for other factors.

I only say this from personal experience having both dealt with, and worked (for a short period), within the industry.

I've had a similar issue recently and thought my experiences may have helped, but if you've sorted it, cool beans.
