Tom is more confident in his ability.he isn't scared to try things and it shows.henderson is till playing within himself too much.they are around the same level though

Not really there both the same type of player, Cleverley often keeps it simple as well.

He's going to be outstanding - doesn't have the consistency to do it every game but he's got everything you could want in a young player

The lad has bags of talent, looking forward to seeing him grow as a player at the club learning from the likes of Gerrard and Lucas...

Get really pissed off at how some folks love to make him a scapegoat for any sub-standard team displays...the lad is 21, was with sunderland all his life, moved to a new club, going to need time to bed in...Hard to think of midfielders that were setting the world alight week in week out at that age...He's shown what he is capable of doing and its only going to get better and more consistent with time..
"It's alright for these lads, they only have to play him twice a year. We have to face him every day in training." - Steven Gerrard on Luis Suarez

Could partner Lucas for ten years if he develops as we hope. Great young player.
Unbelievable how people come out with this kind of stuff! Although only young i don't think Henderson is gonna be anything more than average! he was decent today but is often dreadful so for me nothing has changed, still bottles challenges and offers no real threat and appears quite thick to me. but hey he will be the greatest midfielder the world has ever seen

Playing out of position and still doing a job. Can't ask much more of a 21yo.
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

Normally a player can look great on tubes, but one of the things that's encouraging for me is just the amount of youtube videos on him

Bit of a myth this whole best position business. No one knows what it is yet, people just assume it's centre mid for some reason. Because he's tall i suppose.

The tools are there for him to be anything really. He could play wide, or centre mid. He's not really done anything in either position yet though.

It's funny too because there's actually been games where people have said he's played wide, when he's played centrally, and vice versa.

Because he's put in most of his better performances this season at CM and has been largely shit at RM.

Only caught the first 45mins today, and it looks like the conviction continued through to the second half.

However back on topic, Jordan was fantastic in those first 45mins, he took the game to Arsenal when in possession and i was very impressed.

Yeah trot out that old bs of how Henderson is a bottler.

Well I get someone had to be given the 'shitehouse' tag seeing as Raul left.
When discussing Dirk Kuyt's work rate :

I don't think he works as hard as some people claim. No harder, for example, than Stewart Downing.

Most likely because Henderson said it.

Prove it

How the fuck is he supposed to prove it? You prove that he cost £19m, then.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter how much he cost because you'll still dislike him given you appear to have a vendetta of some description against him.

On days like today I would rather have Henderson & Jonjo (or Spearing) in the mid with Maxi & Kuyt (or replace one of those with Bellamy) than Adam - if we don't get fourth but have Europa secured might as well let the young talent get some experience, Coates should get games too.

I don't think anyone called Henderson a bottler. When they said "I wish he had Shelvey's balls" I believe it's related more to confidence than courage. Shelvey's a cocky sumbitch, and if Henderson got a little of that himself he'd be tearing it up.

I think we'd at least find out if he's truly capable of tearing it up - at the moment I'm just not sure. On the whole I'm not convinced by the guy but he had one of his better games today.

Eventually as he matures he will be a very good player, who plays with confidence, shoots and takes responsibility but doesn't really do that a the moment. As for the other main 2 we signed in the summer to play in midfield I don't hold much hope.

Without having watched the game again, I thought he was alright especially when he got more involved in the second half.

Now, not needing to watch the game again it's the same criticism I have for him week in week out:

Yep, don't dispute that at all. Like I said above, I think he's a great player, however, it could be his mental strength that stops him going to the next level.

Did ok today and that's been the story of his season, he will be a very good player in three years time when Suarez has gone and were struggling for top six.
Needs time but that's something you don't get if you want success.
Reina, Gerrard and Suarez demand success now.

He deserves to be praised for his performance today just like you like to slate players when they have a bad game. It works both ways.

He needs to believe in himself. He should have been screaming at Kuyt to leave it at the penalty rebound. I also thought he could have put a little more confidence into his effort when Suarez hit the post, it was a bit tame.
