Captain James T Kirk would have got +2 out of that Brighton game. And got a special commendation.

Very good weekend that for United, going to have to keep them on the graph at this rate.

It's amazing that only United gained in the APLT this weekend... Provided that City wins tomorrow, all other teams flat-lined. Considering that the table is designed for pars, or flat lines, it's very hard to get all six teams to do that in one weekend. A short consultation with the table shows that hasn't happened yet this season.

Not looking forward to seeing the graph updated, boring flat lines is all we have to look forward to for the rest of the season, apart from the odd upwards blip on the red line.

We are just boring flat track bullies taking 45 points out of a possible 45 from teams outside the top 6. Sooner or later we are going to drop points against a so called lesser side, probably starting with Palace next week.

Ah, I see United are on course for CL qualification (and presumably will win the trophy this year as well due to Di Matteo's Law).

Palace beat City at the Etihad didn't they? No reason to think they can't do the same to us.

The +7 we have currently means nothing as City are more than capable of winning their par 1s. I would think it's only a matter of time before they are right up there.

Oh and we have Utd to play which is almost impossible to win based on their current form.

Current APLT numbers:

Liverpool: 7
City: -1
Spurs: -4
Chelsea: -9
United: -9
Arsenal: -11

Matchday 23:

Liverpool: 7 Palace (H) Par 3 (Win 7, Draw 5, Lose 4)
City: -1 Huddersfield (A) Par 3 (Win -1, Draw -3, Lose -5)
Spurs: -4 Fulham (A) Par 3 (Win -4, Draw -6, Lose -7)
Chelsea: -9 Arsenal (A) Par 1 (Win -7, Draw -9, Lose -11)
United: -9 Brighton (H) Par 3 (Win -9, Draw -11, Lose -12)
Arsenal: -11 Chelsea (H) Par 3 (Win -11, Draw -13, Lose -14)

Two more games which you'd expect us and City to pick up full points in. Either dropping points would allow the other to make significant ground on the APLT. Spurs must win or risk being dragged in to a top 4 race. Arsenal must win or risk being close to out of the top 4 race. A win for United keeps them in the hunt for top 4, otherwise they're relying on Chelsea losing to still be in a good position.

The fact that if we win our home games and only draw all our aways, but still get over 90 points, really emphasises what a great season we're having so far.

What do the blue bars denote sir?

Edit: I suspect I know... they’re the “infeasible to win the league” bars based on your formula, aren’t they?

They add up to 90 points.  They indicate the average performance of league winners home and away when assuming a total of 90 points.  That illustration isn't based on the APLT method, but compliments it well as it shows the teams played and results etc.

Yes, it does highlight the various sub groups very well, and just how far ahead of some clubs we are in terms of points.

Thanks for posting
