Just found out we are playing Lyon in Geneva and Napoli in Edinburgh.

Is right.

That'll keep me going til the next Euro Away.

Applications for last years' UEFA ballot ended on 26 June if anyone wanted to set themselves a calendar reminder to keep checking a week or so before then.

That can’t be right only 10% to each team?

Real got 1.3k for a 10k stadium last year. That’s what I’m going off.

Hopefully be bigger percentage this time with it being bigger ground as won’t have had much scope to give to corporates and sponsors last time with 10k stadium.

I've slept in worse places  :)

100% swerving Istanbul for the Super Cup.  I've got me hotels in Glasgow and Edinburgh booked for the Napoli game so that should tie us over to the next European away.

Thinking of doing a holiday to combine the 2 with the misses....First  thoughts was week in Turkey somewhere then footy, but cant seem to find anything reasonable (obviously peek season and school hols :butt). Having been to Istanbul a few times were not that fussed about staying there any longer than needed for the footy!

Then after looking at the map realised how close Bulgaria to Istanbul is and maybe Sunny Beach  then transfer down (not sure on transfer options?), but when we played in Bulgari last time we had a skiing holiday in Borovets (which was a lot cheaper option than 2-3 days in and out ;)) and got a taxi to take us down to Sofia. The driver stayed there all day and arranged to pick us up near the ground (This was all done with the help of hotel staff and sign language, as the driver never spoke a word of English, and I mean nothing  ::) ;D Thinking back... the skiing was funny as well as there were some scouse lads that had (obviously) decided to come up to the mountains and do a bit of skiing for a day, they had no ski clothing or anything, just hired the skis  :lmao :lmao. Must try and find the photos sometime lol.

Any thoughts or ideas on this (the holiday, not scousers skiing with hardly any winter clothes :wave)

We’re doing a week in Antalya and flying up on the Wednesday and back the Thursday night

Internal flight cheap enough and we were the only ones on it when we booked it!

If you can get to Burgas, about 20 miles south of Sunny Beach, there are daily buses to Istanbul - takes about 5 hours, but think some leave as early as 07.00 and there's also overnight bus. There might even be buses from Sunny Beach too.

I keep changing my mind over this .

If I do go I will have to get to Sofia ( got friends there ) then get the overnight choo choo to Istanbul for 35 quid.

How the fuck do I get to Sofia though ? It's August and the flight prices Ive seen to places that are easy to get to Sofia to by bus or train are a bit pricey.

You can normally get from Stansted to Sofia for about £100 with Ryanair.

It’s £75 direct manchester to Sofia on Tuesday, in plenty of time for the sleeper. Getting there via that route is easy. Getting back on Thursday (or even the Friday for that matter) is the pricey bit.

Thanks lads.

The only thing that makes me not want to go is a part of me would rather book the first Euro away the second the draw is made.

As tempting as it is, I'm personally just going to save for the CL aways. If it were closer I'd have probably made the effort if i could've done it for like £150-odd all including, but eh.

Booked on from Luton Tuesday to Thursday with a flight change each way in Sofia. £259 for flights and hotels cheap enough. Could have saved a few quid getting the sleeper from Sofia Tuesday night but it’s Istanbul. Great city and worth the dough for an extra night there. Pleased we’ve got it sorted.

Liverpool Football Club will be participating in both the Community Shield at Wembley on August 4 and the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul on August 14.
The club is in the process of finalising ticket allocations with both the FA and UEFA, but we expect to receive an initial allocation of around 28,000 tickets for the Community Shield and around 5,257 tickets for the UEFA Super Cup.
Confirmed ticket numbers may change slightly and full details, along with information on how to purchase tickets, will be published on Liverpoolfc.com as soon as possible.

21000+ tickets in UEFA ballot then.

Probably needed for a full stadium. Chelsea won’t sell 5k. And looking at all the regulars on and off here jibbing it I doubt our allocation will sell out straight away.

Got to travel on the Wednesday and back on the Thursday.

AND be nice to see some of Istanbul! (Been before like, but still long way to just see the game!).

If you’re going from NW you can fly to Düsseldorf 19.50 Tuesday (should allow you to work Tuesday) £30. Then train to cologne (20 mins away) and fly from Cologne to Istanbul at 7.45 Wednesday for £59. Gets you to Istanbul 10 hours before the game. Getting back to Manchester Thursday via Berlin just under £200.

Not perfect but with your two day holiday limit it’s doable.

There is now a direct flight from Manchester Wednesday afternoon for £97. Arrives at 18.50 which is in time for 22.00 kick off. Getting back you’re still looking at a couple of flights but it’s doable.
