You know what I meant Doctors and nurses are crying out for PPE in other hospitals for months they are now starting to die.

He does have a point in there. All the stories about the heroic “building” of a hospital in record time was pure propaganda. But it’s understandable. People need some positivity and hope among the constant flow of bad news.

One question re the excel centre, is it going to have ventilators? I’m not sure how it can have too many given the numbers of trained HCP required to operate them.

The trouble is, public opinion and populism shouldn’t influence their plans. Testing really isn’t as important now we’re not in a contain phase (except for nhs staff on the frontline). Antibody tests will be more important and then having enough diagnostic tests in stock to revert to contain and contact tracing once we get over this wave of the epidemic. To test tens of thousands a day will mean shifting already scarce resources to testing.

checked some facts out after a conversation with a relative who wants China punished for what's happened, eating everything that moves, how bats caused Sars in China and bats in China have caused Covid 19. how eating bats should now become a crime in China.
Checked it out and Bats have also passed on SARS to at least 10 other animals so not sure if stopping people eating bats will stop these viruses spreading to people.
Anyway, if there are millions of Coronaviruses in animals all over the world, how come the last 2 pandemics came from Bats from one country and one species of animal.
