Feeling rather low today, so I reckon I need this thread.
I don't always visit Lobster Pot.  But when I do. I sit.

- Ask why are you down?
- Label your negative feelings.
- Make the decision.
- "Good Enough" is okay
- Be grateful
- Touch somebody.  Get a hug.  A big old 20 second squeeze.

Inspiration and keeping faith in yourself
« Reply #290 on: January 26, 2018, 07:49:40 pm »
I received some bad news today and a bit too upset to go into the detail right now.

But I just want to say that keeping faith in yourself, not being afraid to admit your weaknesses and grow, and remembering to remain human and love those around you - it's all so important. Money and status comes and goes, but your core decency, work ethic, good health and good character are everything.

I'd love to hear some heart warming stories of people on here fighting through adversity to see a brighter day. It would give me (and hopefully others) inspiration to keep battling on when times are tough.

Red Beret created one a couple of years ago and I tried to find it today to merge it to be honest mate. There's no need for a second thread. (I would have pm'd you if I'd found it).

It is truly beautiful. A friend gave it to me in 2002 before I travelled India for six months. Everytime I got to the " You are a child of the Universe " part I always got emotional. Have a guess why ? Because it's true .

Another great poet and great mystic is Rumi
He has played a massive part in me leaning towards Sufism and his words are so inspirational.

" The wound is the place were the light enters you "

" The greater the pain the bigger the reward "

Not 100% that the last was his though.

I can recommend a book by Benjamin Hoff called the Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet. This book had a great influence on me too. I guess I already knew and felt it but it was nice to read it . It was like it confirmed something for me.
