well impressed with the stadium. the ground is bloody huge. boxes were cool

best laugh was at the start the tour guide asked us all (about 30 of us) where we were from. of course most just gave one word answers "dublin" "holland" "australia"

Fair bit of improvement in attack possible if they can get the number 10 position going. Joselu will come good, from the little I've seen the final step is in his head, he's not quite comfortable and owning the shirt yet. The worst thing you can do is drop him, that'll just reinforce the pattern of a career and mentally send him down back to the place he knows too well.  You need to break new ground with him, the technique, movement, mobility is there, unlike Mitrovic. A confident, aggressive Joselu is getting into double figures easily.

Newcastle United "systematically abused" the tax system to "secretly" make payments to agents and players during transfers, a court has heard.

The allegations emerged after the Tyneside club challenged a raid by HM Revenue and Customs in April.

United argued no reasonable grounds existed for believing it had engaged in tax fraud, but High Court judges ruled the warrants were "lawfully issued".

It reveals Operation Loom is looking into whether the club knew payments to agents were being "secretly" funnelled to other unlicensed agents and players themselves in a bid to circumvent income tax and National Insurance.

Regarding Demba Ba's transfer to Newcastle from West Ham, HMRC said: "It appears NUFC paid agent's fees for services of £1.9m in full knowledge that the majority would be passed on to other agents... and to a company associated with the player."
There were "further suspicions" arising out of his transfer to Chelsea in January 2013.

HMRC said it believed "NUFC systematically abused the tax system... and all payments to agents made were potentially the subject of criminal proceedings".

Well, it's automatic relegation if you want worst case scenario for this one.  Depends on what exactly the buggers running your club have done though, doesn't it? If it's systematic tax evasion and undisclosed payments to agents and players then the Premier League will be wanting a pound of flesh just to appease the tabloids, you'd think. SFA gave Rangers a fine for similar, but then that was kicking a corpse.

Wonder if it will go up to Ashley. Tax evasion is one of the things which would make him unfit to own, or control, a football club.

last season we played Man City in a 5.30pm kick off at Anfield on 31st December, then had to travel to Sunderland for a 3pm kick off on 2nd January. Less than 44 hours between 1 game finishing and the next game kicking off

the only real issue is travelling fans and if it’s inconvenient, don’t go... if enough people don’t go or don’t tune in when it’s on ‘sky sports live’ then they won’t do it again...

Controversial plans to stage Liverpool’s visit to Arsenal on Christmas Eve face being derailed by stadium safety concerns amid the reluctance of stewards to staff the game.

It's to be the first game held on Christmas Eve in something like 22 years. It's not really comparable to retail workers.
