i think like someone said the defence is shakey on there part and lets face it we have a few goalscorers so i honestly think we will be ok and with gomes flapping about like a bird of late that ups my confidence a little.

                        Reina

Arbeloa     Carra      Agger     Dossena

              Xabi               Masch

                         Stevie
Kuyt                                            Riera

                         Babel

I reckon Torres will only be fit for the bench, same with Keane.
Dossena and Reira will play to put balls into the box because Gomes is shit.
Babel up front partly because of the injuries, and partly because he can crack the fuck out of ball at the drop of a hat.

Gerrard and Xabi will be having pops from range with Babel and Kuyt chasing in.

With the form of Gomes if we don't score from a shot or shot+rebound we've done something wrong.
Add to that the defence of Spurs is about as shit as you can get in the PL at the moment, and we should be able to get a 2 goal return.

Hope Masch gives Bentley a kick in the ankles early too, to keep him quiet.
Modric should be contained by Masch also, and i recon Carra and Agger could handle Pavyluchenko, and on a good day, Bent :P
Fired?? He should be shot! With shit, human shit!

There is no way that we're going to let Spurs put 4 past us. They'd be lucky to get 4 chances.
We play a very different, all round game then Arsenal. Main difference is, we can defend.
I'm feeling confident, as we usually play well against teams who actually play football.

i think Stevie G needs to bring back the outrageous shots from anywhere and everywhere as Gomes is useless. Definitely see this being a high scoring game or at least i hope it is... Starts 4-30am here in Aus so i will definitely be watching it.

This game will be a real test.  Spurs are on the up again but I believe we can get 3 points. They play an open game not like what Pompey did last night, more holes in their defence in which Keane and Torres can exploit. Our defence will have to be air tight though. Really gutted that I'm unable to watch the match as I'm off for a camp till Sunday morning :(

It seems like its highly likely we will play the same team as vs portsmouth but with changes like

pennant > riera
hyypia > agger
lucas > masch

Torres is likely to be on the bench and have a late appearance. Will remain in a 4-2-3-1, Kuyt will be the striker. Babel if he starts will be on the right in my opinion although he should get a shot up top from the start imo. His pace and power would cause the tottenham defence all sorts of problems.

If keane does shake off his injury this will be a huge game for him as he will want to get on the scoresheet and he will know their weaknesses.

I think nando will be fit for this one!  But if not, i'd really go for a team that we played against Chelsea, absolute class! Maybe we can also play this.

                                  Reina
Arby          Carra           Dagger           Doss
Benayoun    Masch       Gerrard          Riera
                    Kuyt           Keane

Torres is back in training but I will only throw him on around 60mins to kill the game off for us. We need benayoun to play, he injects creativity and is able to play passes well, compared to pennant who is often too '1-D'.

"Gomes is shit blah blah blah".

This game is now absolutely nailed on to be one of those horrible affairs where their keeper is by far the best player on the pitch and we, at best, eek out a narrow victory.

Just said in another thread that this to the media is now Harry Redknapp vs the Return of Fernando Torres. For this reason I think it will be the most hyped game of the season so far. Just got to win this.

I expect this lineup

Reina

Arby   Carra   Agger   Dossena

Masch   Alonso

Kuyt   Gerrard   Riera

Keane

Expect Nando and Babel to come from the bench to run at tired legs, especially if we haven't got the lead.

Do think we'll win this one, quiet comfortably too. Tottenham's game falls right into our hands, and they can't defend.
It wouldn't be Liverpool if we didn't do it the hard way... ask Gareth Southgate.

tough game tottenham will be either one of two thing drained from the arsenal game or it will give them massive coinfidence  only defensive change will be agger returning plus the other 3 left out will return mascherano, keane and  reira .

this tie went from being probably one of the easiest to one of the toughest in 7 days. we might be better off for it though - we seem to have a way this season of playing to the level of our opponents. spurs will be up for it and going for the win - should give us plenty of space and with masch and agger back, we should be a lot more solid than arsenal were.

Why do people include Torres in their starting line up, he just started training. Id be surprised id he does, would prefer to ease him in and give him 20 mins at the end. Last thing we want is Torres to reinjure himself

Glad to have got through the Portsmouth game with a win.Allthough it was not the best, a couple of important players got a nice break.

This will be one tough game though but one which i fell will we are suited too. Tottenham are going to have a kick up their arse and will attack from the start but i think we can handle them. Bent and Pavlyachenko are not two of the better forwards Agger and Carragher have been up against and King and Dawson will be terrified of Keane returning bank to the Lane too.

Torres from the bench is an ok option too.

Reckon 2-0 the reds with a brace from Keane.

At least we gave a few players a needed rest yesterday, normal service resumes:

--------------Reina-----------
Arbeloa-Carra-Agger-Doss
---------Masch-Xabi---------
Kuyt-----Gerrard----Riera--
-----------Keane--------------

Torres on bench.

We're probably going with 4-2-3-1 with Keane as the lone striker like we did at Chelsea.  Our midfield of Masch, Xabi and Gerrard will rape Huddlestone, Jenas and Modric.

Very confident of a win.

Tricky game. I'm not very confident about this one.

With the arrival of Harry, first win, good result against Arse, eager to climb.

Scary match this one.

If we can just beat spurs and stay top as of November 1st, the teams we have to worry about Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal and IMO Villa all play each other in November. Looking at our fixtures we have a realivley easy run next month.

Fingers crossed we could be sitting pretty at the top come December, with a greater lead than now.

On a serious note, wish that twat Levy had waited a week before giving Ramos the boot. Revitalised Tottenham, scoring two injury-time goals, and one the equaliser, in a derby? Well have their tails up. Keep them quiet first 20 minutes, and put pressure on their goalie, his confidence is shot to fuck.

Spurs are leaking goals, we're not.

I don't think they'll be quite as open as they were last night,
if King is fit for them it'll be a tougher task but we can certainly
boss them in midfield and hopefully Keane can do the business up top.

I just pray that Redknapp sticks with Gomes as he is a complete
liability for them at the moment.

It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.
