Sheff Utd relegated as joint quickest club to do so along with Derby.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. What exactly was the point of that Wilder sacking, just to put an interim in charge? They've lost every game since anyway.

I think he may have fallen out with the board, or at least there were rumours. Otherwise there reqlly wasn't much of a point.

Also, we robbed Sheffield United for Brewster.

The owner wants to put a more modern football structure in place which meant Wilder would no longer be in charge of transfers.  Wilder said that wouldn’t work for him and that was that.

Chelsea are frustratingly functional. Seldom ever look spectacular but Tuchel has cut his cloth accordingly with them and made them extremely difficult to beat.

Nah, they are nothing special. Already dropped points against Wolves, Southampton, Man Utd and Leeds, and were trashed by Fat Sam's WBA ...

Sheffield United are a strange side. did well last season despite being limited and then completely dipped after the return of the league last season. Despite being rock bottom all this season, they didnt take any real hammerings did they? feels like they lost all their games by a single goal.

We’ve now completely lost sight of what offside is meant to be about

There’s no advantage gained there because his bootlace was offside when the ball was kicked
If you don't limit yourself with bad thoughts, you can fly

Think that is the thing isn’t it? All these lines in offside but are players actually gaining an advantage? Applying letter of law is ruining the spirit of it.

Would be amazed if it didn’t get changed in summer, as it’s pretty much impacted every team negatively so even if it goes to a club vote can see something changing ... has to.

That's what technology is doing. And within a year or two they're bring in AI to determine offsides.

It's the same with pens which 'clever' footballers are able to take advantage of.

Scott Parker and Graham Potter are two decent young English managers, set their teams up in the right way just lacking quality in converting their chances.

What a ridiculous shout that is. Not that you'd want a purist for a relegation battle anyway, particularly one that needed half a bill spent on a defence to make it not concede goals. A genius at work.

Throw in the likes of Gerrard and there's hope for the future of English managers. English managers were among the best in the world until the Hodgson and Graham Taylor generation ushered in by Charlie Hughes sent the English game back into the dark ages in the 80s. The likes of Allardyce and Pulis are the legacy.

Reminds me of one of our games this... goal disallowed due to VAR offside fuckery and the opposition team then having VAR fuckery go their way to take the lead against run of play.

yet he could end up winning the Europa league to go along with an FA Cup.

Such a strange situation, cos I agree really, he’d be under huge pressure otherwise.

Thought they'd give offside on Houlding there to be honest. Would have been massively harsh on Arsenal though.

I thought Houlding was offside (he put the keeper off being so close when he's trying to push the ball away), but I can see why it was allowed. Also it's funny because Brave Scotty Parker turned into a look muttering under his breath, pacing back and forth like a loon.

I don't know, Holding was right in front of the keeper and could have been affecting play. Probably the right decision according to the rules but it's a pretty iffy one.
