Clearing Debts
« on: February 24, 2017, 10:15:38 am »
Didn't know where else to put this but I wanted to post it because it's made me feel very positive at a difficult time.

I am 40 and have been in varying levels of debt for 19 years. At the worst point 7 years ago, I had something like 28 creditors and owed around 27k. All personal debts, payday loans, normal loans, credit cards, bills etc.

I have just paid the final creditor off over the phone and am now completely debt free and it feels fucking fantastic so I thought i'd post it in the positivity thread  :wave

Genuinely fantastic that buddy! Debt is a noose around the neck that holds us in places we'd sometimes prefer not to be! Envious of your freedom mate.

Well fucking done sir :wave

Cheers Titi, feels like such a weight lifted. The last debt was only £132 because i've been paying it off on a monthly basis but still feels symbolic to have paid it off and finally be in the clear. When I think back to what it was like 5/6 years ago with my phone vibrating all day at work with companies chasing me for money and my salary going completely on payday with repayments of payday loans and then having to take out a load of new ones just to get through the month and pay nursery fees etc, fucking nightmare!!

Yeah man, debts a vicious circle when you're on the edge (income = outgoings), for you to have cleared it as quickly as you have is a fucking great effort!

Had to go through Payplan for most of them. Definitely recommend them for anyone with debt, much better than CCCS or whatever they are called now (who I was with before)

Well done.

Put simply. It is a nice feeling being out of debt. Especially the associated feeling of having so much more money left over at the end of each month.

Well done mate.

In a similar situation myself. £36k of debt due to a gambling addiction and I'll make my last payment on 1st Jan 2018.

Next year is going to be fucking crazy.
