Playing through Crash 2 at the moment - bit of weekend morning favourite.  I'm totally stuck at 'Bee-Having'...how on earth are you supposed to escape the swarms?!

Posted this in another thread, but I’m surprised how hard this game is. I don’t remember it as being that punishing. May be due to the fact that I’m older and spoiled by modern auto-save. I cant get past Native Fortress. No chance.

I also gave up but I forget the level name. It looks a bit like a castle and has moving stairs. I just can't get the timing right.

Gave up after 5 minutes, it's very tricky in some parts and I was close to breaking my controller.

Sounds like Slippery Climb. It's well known to be a bit of a fucker  ;D

I went into one of the bridge levels with about 50 lives and ended up losing them all  :o

First time playing this since I had a PlayStation 1 - Christ it’s fucking solid. Finally beat Native Fortress after hours of trying!

Yeah it was slippery climb. I finally managed to do it earlier and then beat cortex a couple of hours later.

I couldn't do the bridge levels so I jumped onto the rope and bypassed it  ;D

Currently playing Crash 4 for PS5.  I wanted a colorful platformer with a challenge.  And so far not disappointed.

I've done the first four or five levels.  While simply getting from start to finish in a level is reasonably straightforward, achieving 100% on a level by collecting all the gems, Wumpa fruit, and Boxes, takes some serious skills.

As a FromSoftware addict.  It's nice to get a break from Souls-type games and have a bit of fun, but still retain that element of satisfaction when completing a level.

I believe there are 40 levels on Crash 4 and i expect it's only gonna get much tougher.

Reading this thread, Crash 1 sounds absolutely brutal!

Yeah seen them on a few reviews I've read.

Are they compulsory levels or optional?  I assume you need them for Platinum?

Been a while since I’ve played it, but think they’re optional once you’ve got to a certain part of the game. And yeah, for full completion they all need to be played through.

Time trials too  :no

Just watched a video of a guy doing the 'Slippery Climb' level from CB1

Some of the comments.  The phrase "Bringing grown men to tears" springs to mind.

Man! That bonus section on "Tha he Blows" level is absolutely brutal if you want to collect all 23 boxes

Just did it after literally 100's of tries

Crash 4 is a really challenging game if you go after a perfect level.

Great game. :)
