I went yesterday, probably going today too. I'd recommened it to anyone, it was awesome - big stage and PA, variety of music from across Africa with some great basslines, sun shining, barbecues sizzling, loads of families and kids, lads having a few bevvies and a kick-about. Great atmosphere. Felt like summer had landed.

Sefton Park is one of the best places to spend a day in Liverpool. More people should make an effort to get out the house and enjoy it.

Was riding me bike past there on Friday night and all the performers were in their little tented village and stuff - lots of tunes blasting out from tents and whatnot. Sounded pretty cool on Sunday, too, but I was too knackered from the Manc-Liverpool bikeride thing to head down there.

So you calf muscles are fucked too?                 :D

I remember in 2005 on the Sunday the heavens opened. My flat became a refuge for strangers, mostly female  ;) .  We ended up having a party in mine for the rest of the day.

Iam still friends with most of them to this day.    :D

Its on a different field this year as the field its usually on is a building site.

We were only mentioning this over the weekend (while at the Green Festival in Newcastle, something that you should attend, Paul). Hopefully be able to nick along for an hour or two, but we're pretty busy that weekend, unfortunately. :)

I have been told that I should attend it. I have pals I met through The Oye who have stall there.

See you at The Oye Lar.

Oh and Stan the harp player may pop along to. Maybe a Cello player and a few flutes to. Fingers crosssed and weather permitting. Bring some scoff vegan and veggie only. Dont ya just love hippie fascism.   ;D  Oh eay and some booze and perhaps ya sister.    :wave

PM us if you are interested mate.

How was the party, Paul?

Very good. We all got blissed out on mantras around the fire. I actually live in garden for 3 days and cooked scoff on fire pit. I was covered in ash and looked like a Sadhu.

The fessie was good. I connected with lots of hippy types and they want me to work for them at fessies this summer. They make chai and have drumming workshops which is what Iam into. Also will be doing massage with two hippy girls I met at Oye to. Next one in Derbyshire next week.

Life is good my flend.    :wave

Oh yeah!

Was speaking to one of the organisers before and he says that the council may pull out out the Oye meaning that last weeks fun could be the last one. One of the things that makes me happy at Oye is to see families from Liverpool who cant afford to travel experiencing different cultures.

c*nts!

They've killed it imo. It's ticketed this year, fiver to get in. And no barbecues allowed. Can see lots of people hanging round the fence on the outside though.

Have they? We had some sort of advertising postcard through the door, said it's ticketed? Did they change their mind about that after putting all the advertising out?

They've killed it imo. It's ticketed this year, fiver to get in. And no barbecues allowed. Can see lots of people hanging round the fence on the outside though.

Nah mate - it is free again.  Managed to get some extra sponsorship and some funding from the council and the threat of the fences has gone.  Just gotta pray for the sun to come out now
