What an absolute beast. Dominated midfield and put in a few crunching tackles.

Lucas put in 13 tackles. The 5 defenders combined put in 17. The back 3 centrehalves put in 10.

Poor first half (well by his standards) but great second half tackled everything and calm and composed with the ball

Hurry up, and get the man a new contract.

Good first post  ;D

Immense today - cool as a cucumber - and he is clearly still developing. His game has gone up another level this season. He has the trust of his team mates, and he is growing in confidence with displays like this.

His composure in the 2nd half was 2nd to none. The way he was able to tackle and then have enough poise to carry the ball or make qualoity decisions in releasing the ball.

Really played well today...as did everyone.

He bossed it.  Essien, Mikel and Lampard had no joy.  It wasn't all down to him in that midfield, definitely a team effort.  But he was brilliant.

You are spot on. I said he had a poor first half. But if I hadn't read the three names of the Chelsea midfield in your post above, I wouldn't have known who they had played. I can't recall anything from Lampard or anything other than fouls from Mikel.
Lucas is boss.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

Even the yellow card was an extremely well judged decision from Lucas to stop play in its tracks. We were clearly stretched at that point.

If anyone STILL can't see what he brings to this side, after that performance today, then you really are a complete and utter cleft.

Get him a new contract, right fucking now.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Good game from Lucas today. My favourite moment: in the second half when we were under pressure on the edge of the box he made an excellent interception and then carried the ball 30 yards whilst we pushed up. Simple but effective and he reads the game well like that.

And that in the 88th minute.  Superb effort

They need to extend his contract asap. This should be of the highest priority!
