Just come across this. I’ve never had the privilege of meeting you, Carl, but I’ve read (and nodded along to) many of your posts over the years. For what it’s worth, the whole of RAWK - my wife and I included - are thinking of you in anticipation of your next hot take! Get well soon mate.

Thoughts are with Carl. Hoping he has the strength to grasp this chance, his loved ones and RAWK need him!

I've bolded something additional in the OP, although to preserve the timeline element, I've also mentioned that updates as when they are available are posted by his sister or Bennekov or myself. It's an organic thread and will develop over time, hopefully culminating in Carl's release from hospital and on the road to recovery.

Just popping my head in guys to keep you updated. Still no change but he's not got any worse. Silly arse has tried to pack all his boiled sweets and black bananas in an Aldi bag and discharge himself. The fact he cannot barely stand or even pick his nose is irrelevant 🙄🔫
I'm hoping to get chance to speak with his doctor tonight to find out what the next steps are now they can't medically assist his recovery any more...I'm guessing he will be moved into some kind of palliative care unit. Hospitals are not that forthcoming with information  unfortunately 😕

On another note...I just wanted to say how touched I am with all the kind words of support and encouragement for Carl. I don't doubt for a moment he would be truly humbled and overwhelmed by them all....although I'm imagining a far more colourful response to Capon's contribution 🤔😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sending much love from the Vanreelies...xxx

Thanks Helen for that and hopefully you get some positive responses when you talk with his doctor. Not liking the term "palliative care" one bit :(

On your other note, I take it Carl's still in a state of confusion and hasn't yet managed to absorb that fact we're all rooting for youse all?

You deserve better than a good luck Carl and if it ever comes to a situation where he's lucid and strong enough to go no,  I do want a liver transplant, if not the UK then elsewhere maybe something can be done about that but that's a judgement call / risk further down the line. You've got take the information in, try to get a read on the level of the expert providing it to help set the confidence level to guide you but ultimately make your own decisions for your health.

Thanks to his family for providing the  updates.

Never had any conversations with you on here Carl but have read many of your posts and just want to wish you all the best. Having had family members pass away due to alcoholism in the past I've seen first hand how it can affect brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers. Here's hoping you're on the mend and can beat this c*nt of a disease.

What a thread this is. Struggling with finding the right words, but it kinda is Carl in a way, is it not? Heartwarming pisstake? Over the top madness? Lots of love around?

I don't know... felt like it anyhows..

Get better Carl, listen to the family - both close and extended, also, those doc-fellas might know a thing or two, see what they say about it too, so you can get your happy arse back on here.
