Like their left back. Only seen him when they play us but he seems pretty pacy/swift/fast. The sort of player we should be looking at as a back up to Robertson.

Regarding the game, hope we win. I think we will be fucked by the 60th minute though and they will be at it from the start. Same shit as before but we need to be clinical. Get a win and a boost of confidence.

I know mate, ffs.
And this is why I get annoyed at people who at the start of every season dismiss the FA Cup. It's a huge fixture we could be involved in. A fucking trophy.

That fixture list is depressing. I’ll be happy to see the back of the season now albeit happy memories with the league final

Also, the bonus of the fa cup is a trip to Wembley for the many who never get to go to a Liverpool game outside of Anfield.

Liverpool FC Forum / Re: The Title Race 2023/24- Jurgen's Last Dance

The odd thing about this is that Klopp’s set such high standards that this dip in form is taken so badly by the fan base. We operate at such a high level that there’s apparently no tolerance for anything other than fillet steak. Kind of odd how Klopp’s being judged against such cripplingly high expectations.

That's true. We have fantastic expectations. It's also true that it is Jurgen's own creative brilliance that has helped inflate those expectations. But I don't find it odd - as opposed to unfair - that our tolerance for failure has consequently become lower. Every Title chase against a financially doped and - yes - superb football team like Man City involves extraordinarily high levels of hysteria. And each campaign becomes yet more hysterical. We all recognise the madness of what Liverpool are trying to do and the levels of perfection that are required merely in order to keep in the race. Practically all of us are now hysterics. It's inevitable.

Add in the fact that this is Jurgen's last season and we are faced with the awful possibility that this season might therefore be our last chance for a long time and the hysteria becomes ten-times worse. I panic at the thought of failure myself, no matter how calm I try to be. I absolutely understand why Anfield was so nasty v Palace. It was unfair, it was demented, it was unkind. But it wasn't odd. People were surely howling against the cosmos (as it were) and not Jurgen and the lads.

The only thing to say is that if we do win the Title the celebrations and the outpourings of love will be unprecedented. There'd be a level of euphoria that would surpass Rome, Istanbul and Madrid. And none of it will be hypocritical.

And win, or lose, when the dust settles the love for Jurgen Klopp will be forever. I hope he knows that in the frantic weeks ahead.

The Esk reporting that at the meeting last night Colin Chong basically said they are looking to sell a share of BMD but are hoping to retain control, so 49% for sale then?

That would be a pretty dicey investment, given the site-driven need for maintenance and the lack of owners' funds to pay their 51% share.

I hope it chucks it down in Shanghai all weekend, makes for a much more interesting weekend. When the rain comes you get to see who the best drivers truly are.

They’ll just go all wets and red flag when they start to struggle on them!!

We need rain randomly throughout enough to unsettle tactics and make drivers struggle to stay on.

Cremated my father today

Fuck that was hard. But... feeling good (grief is there, but I'm just letting it happen)

I wrote and performed his eulogy. Went down very well

Third time I've done a eulogy actually, fuckin hell

OK, so
if you're in this thread and you're aware of the sheer volume of depressing shit I've dealt with over the years

The good news, you can get through it

YNWA was the walking out song. So, another tight knot for me tying me to this club. Was already used at my mother's too, so it has resonance

And the most important thing about YNWA?

the words are true
All the best Tone x

Was hard not to route for Phil after the journey he had to the final. Would definitely have picked him if it was my money as he had some proof of concept with 5 shops and clearly needed someone with some additional resources and crucially business acumen to give him support and advice. I struggle to see hers making a lot of money given the market and her approach to memberships but it’s his cash, not mine ;D

Fair enough!

I was simply going off that I can not immediately turn the TV off when I hear from them.  100% not even remotely ideologically close to them, btw, just really really wanted to make that fucking clear!

I think it just illustrates that whilst the Tories are rife with nutters, that just because they appear to string a sentence together or believe in the world order and institutions, doesnt mean that they shouldnt be considered any better.

That Coalition government did so much damage to the country and effectively everything, including Brexit, starts from that point.

Finished Ripley last night. Hadn't intended to binge it but just got progressively drawn in. It's a slow burn for sure but the tension gets ramped up with each episode. Wonderfully atmospheric in black and white. Well worth a watch I think.
Yep, hopefully people aren't dissuaded by it being in b&w. It was superb, loved it.
