looking like a solid back up for Clyne... we needed that, Clyne realy needs rest as he is playing always when fit...

imo good future ahead of this kid, looks solid for his age...

Great assist for the goal, put in a few other nice balls too and generally solid at the back. The future is bright for the kids

Showed his inexperience at times but a hugely impressive performance from him nonetheless. Looks very confident in possession and his assist for Origi's goal was superb.

Looks good. Can't fault John Gibbons who has been banging on about him for a while.

He's brilliant. Will take over from Clyne eventually.

Bellerin broke through at Arsenal at 19 so no reason this lad can't break through. The bonus with him that gives him the edge over Clyne is he's miles better than Clyne on the ball. Hopefully a few years of training with Clyne will do him the world of good because Clyne is one of the leagues best defending RBs so working with him every day will really help him. If he can add a little muscle as well then that would help too.

Really exciting that TAA and Joe Gomez are both only 18/19 years old. Two exceptional talents in the making.

I get the feeling that if Clyne were to get injured or suspended he might find Alexander-Arnold very difficult to displace - I mean that cross today, A-A made look effortless something that Clyne would struggle to achieve from multiple attempts. That's no slight on Clyne either, he's a hugely consistent, solid, quality player, but I think Alexander-Arnold has a little bit of magic about him.

Even if he isn't the finished article yet, you can see he just screams quality.

Has everything to be a top, top level RB for us for 15 years.

Lovely mix of exuberance and composure.

Really impressive again tonight, the cross for Origi's goal was excellent. He's got a very bright future ahead of him, one of a few we can say that about. Exciting times for the club with such a talented group of youngsters coming through.

His ability on the ball is one of the reasons he sometimes plays RW for the under-23's. He's a beast in that position too to be honest.

And centre mid as well. Got that proper "can play anywhere on the pitch and be one of the better players" brilliance that Stevie had - at U23 level at least. Quality assist today.

I'm very, very excited about TAA and he had another great game but I think it's a bit premature to be talking about displacing Clyne, who is one of the best and most consistent RBs in the league.

Be interesting to see how TAA fares defensively against a better side, but going forward he's got a lot of quality that I can't wait to see develop. Ain't nout wrong with having one RB who's superb defensively and one RB who's superb going forward.

Between Clyne and Arnold we should have right back locked down for the next decade. He's got everything in his locker; pace, ability to beat a man, nice cross and defensively sound.

That isn't actually him. Someone at sky sports pulled that one out of their arse because it was a similar looking mixed race kid about the right age.

He looked like no one more than Gerrard with that assist. Arms above his head demanding the ball, the way he shaped when the ball was played to him, and then the ridiculously good final ball. Not bad at all.

What's been severely lacking in Clyne's game has been his final ball and general attacking play, which TAA showed in abundance tonight. Hopefully it gives Clyne a kick up the behind knowing he's got competition from the kid.

There was so much talk about the left back, that I always wondered why nobody was concerned enough about the right back slot. I was of the opinion in July/August that we needed a right back to challenge Clyne, and to then, hopefully, have Clyne as back up option. I'd played out that wish fulfillment in my head anyway. I was a bit 'scratchy head' about seeing nobody brought in, particularly after seeing Flanno go on loan. I didn't mention it much, maybe once, but ... yeah... there is back up in AA (I like it when a plan comes together). Decent back up too. Very encouraging - he's been quietly quite impressive.

did gerrard play a ball in like that for owen to score against newcastle at the end of one season? maybe 2003 or 2004. we were competing with newcastle for the last champions league spot i think
