« on: March 26, 2011, 10:25:50 pm »

I was thinking of bringing the missus and little 'un up one weekend but at those rates (I LIKE my steaks) I'm hoping some peeps on here can give some positive feedback as to the food (STEAK) being worth it?! (do you get it, I LIKE STEAK, best they be fukin good!!)

Calling me pretentious? Other than liking steak, the point I 'm making is that an LFC outlet is charging very high prices and surely counter productive?

So unless your fishing, go do one

I haven't been but looking at the menu it does look anymore expensive than average, apart from the steaks.

http://assets.liverpoolfc.tv/uploads/bootroom/bootroom-menu-online.pdf

Also the deal for the kids party looks good,
meal, tour and a few other goodies for 15quid per kid. You ll pay that for a shitty indoor center with chicken nuggets.

how much would you expect to pay for a steak? those prices look ok to me, £35 for a two course meal with drinks for 2 people is pretty reasonable. i don't think i've ever had dinner for two for less than £50-60 in london.

Given that 1kg sirloin steak raw costs between £12.79 & £24.00 before cooking, staff, fuel, chips, salad, veg, etc etc it is probably about right. Steak pretty expensive everywhere because of grain prices.

Most restaurants cost the meals at about twice the food costs for the main meals.

Yes. But given the whole coffee shop market is taking the proverbial, £1.95 is restrained!!

£3.45 for a medium coffee & biscuit in Costa with NHS staff discount. Material costs probably about 20p!

I can highly recommend the Spaghetti Bolognese at £7.95. Big portion and reasonably priced (watching a repeat of us beating the Mancs made it even better!). Only been there once so can't comment on any other item from the menu.

Steak is expensive and the resturant is the only one it's kind around Anfield. Unless you had an affiliation with the club you wouldn't go there. The club will take advantage of this when you go there. I can remember paying 35 Euros for a steak in Florence 18 months ago that covered a whole plate. It was the best steak I've ever had and two of us couldn't finish it there was that much there.

Went a couple of weeks ago and loved it! Didn't think the prices were out of the ordinary to be honest. Four of us (2 adults & 2 kids), shared a starter, 4 mains and 2 desserts & drinks came to about £60. I had lasagne - delicious. The food wasn't like microwaved pub chain food, came across as home cooked. Compared to Carra's I think Boot Room is much nicer but I guess it's all down to personal taste!

Been to Carra's loads of times and it's always been good.  Having a bit of a celebration with some mates in a few weeks time and was thinking of it again but was wondering would the Boot Room Cafe be better?
