Any win is sound but a performance to go alongside it would be nice. Just have to get the three points then you look at the likes of United, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Everton next and think really we should win those. Problem is Fulham is exactly one of those types of fixtures too!

Palace were shit against Arsenal and if you can keep the likes of Zaha/Eze etc out the game you'll usually be fine as they have nothing special in the centre forward position.

Hope Nunez starts and gets the full 90. He's always involved in front of goal so even with 5 subs this season he has to play as much as he can. The entire ground will be pulling for a home debut goal tomorrow. Hopefully better showings from the wide men too, Diaz struggled last week, as did Salah until the introduction of Nunez.

I'd say it's much better having Monday night fixtures at the moment given the heatwave. We won't have an advantage vs. the opposition but it will give us the best possible conditions in which to play our high intensity pressing game - plus as annoying as it is, I'd much rather be in the stadium at night under the floodlights rather than frazzling in 35 degree heat!!

Gonna be a bit of a grind, Viera is a decent manager and they have quality within their side. Aslong as we don't fall into our recent slow starts, im hopeful for a dominant home win. Id start Nunez, give him a good 60 minutes with a goal, ready for United next week.

Shit, just driven a hectic 250 miles from Manchester fretting I won't be home in time for the match, couldn't find a stream, then realised it's not on until tomorrow.

Age finally catching up with me.

Ah well, at least I've got something to look forward to tomorrow.

The only good thing about a Monday night game is that once the weekend football's over, we still have something to look forward to.

It’s our home opener on a Monday night with everyone around the country watching. Maybe the ball just isn’t going in the net but if we’re not all over them from the first whistle then I’d be amazed. If on the other hand we look the same as we started against Fulham then we have some issues. Palace can hurt us if we aren’t at it. Just can’t believe Klopp will let that happen. I’d expect a great performance and a solid 3 points.

In the good old days it would be a bit early to say 'this is a must win' but it's a must win. Don't want to spend all season playing catch up to the oil machine.

The pitch and the weather will be perfect can't wait!

I would want to see Fabinho/Keita/Elliott for the palace match.  More mobility and creativity cannot hurt. From the Fulham match (and much of last season) there is little Henderson offers that we will miss. If an older head has to play then I'd rather it be Milner as he was excellent when he came on v Fulham.

I assume we all assume rightly that Nunez will start.

totally agree with the above. Start with Fabinho, sub him off after 60 to be safe and put in Milly.

take a leaf out of hate to say it but oil c*nts book and start fast ...score early and just cruise to the next game

we might suffer less injuries when trying keeping up or increase the tempo chasing an equalizer.

think it is about time for diaz, nunez and salah to start and gel.

midfield of elliot, hendo and lighthouse and our back 4 basically picks themselves out with the injuries to other personnel. Would love to see the linkup on the right with elliot, salah and trent, that was looking promising early on the season til elliot got injured.

a uneventful 3-0 would be nice. But looking at how the officials are fucking up everything, expect the usual pigs in black to be the centre of attraction as always

I'd agree here, especially if Bobby is due to start.

Even aside from Fulham, I think we've had one or two at most good starts in our last ten games. Haven't tended to start second halves well in that period either.

After the poor first half last match, surely we have to start with a quickly tempo, especially at home.

A goal or two in the first half hour and we should go on to win easily. If it's still 0-0 at 60 minutes, it will start getting tense (both on and off the pitcvh)

Not heard it called that before.

We could do with getting out of the habit of conceding first. Would love a routine win like we had against them last season but have a feeling they’ll make us work for it. 3-1.

I think it is safe to say we wont see the slow start we saw against Fulham. I imagine Jurgen will have quickly got that issue covered off during half time so I can see a lot of pressing and closing down from the off.

The team I would love to see based on what we have available would be:

Ali
Trent, Matip, Virgil and Robertson
Elliot, Henderson/Fab and Carvalho
Salah, Nunez and Diaz

However, given we are likely to press from the off, I can see Keita and Bobby starting ahead of Carvalho and Nunez.

The old romantic in me wants to see Bobby smashing it this year too  8)

I can see tonight not being without controversy considering Tierney is involved  :tosser

Does anyone know if we have to suffer the death rattle tones of Martin Tyler in commentary  :no

Excited for the game, will be interesting to see what Klopp fields today, would he start Elliot, or Nunez (Drop Firmino in midfield?) I'd personally like to see what Trent can do early on with Nunez as his target.

We've already seen that Klopp likes Carvalho on the left hand side rather than in the middle. Thiago is out, so we could see Keita come back in?

Palace will be tough, but its at Anfield.
did you know that 10 x 2 and 11 x 2 have the same answer?

If it's tight at around the hour mark I hope Klopp's not thinking of taking Nunez off for Bobby. I just think he can get you that goal at any point, we'll score more with him in the side over the course of the season.

I'm assuming Nunez starts by the way, would be a very surprising decision not to start him after a really good start to his LFC days.
