Nice to get a fairly meek Southampton as well, given we were straight off a cup final. Felt like the kind of performance most teams put in against City, despite Atkinson's best efforts to get them in the game.

Agree as above Only Gomez injury was a negative - our B team did us proud.

I would like us to hit more shots on target - our 5 on target out of 29 was not great tonight.

But loved the authority and confidence of this team  - gave our first team players a rest.
9 changes - awesome performance from those that played.

And a few nice little performances - Taki Minamino did extremely well - Elliott got  65 mins - which is a huge bonus. 1 or 2 nice attacking moves and he had a great chance.
Bobby also did extremely well
Jota cannot buy a goal - but was very threatenins at times. Had quite a few good opportunities as well.

Bring on Wolves - pressure back on City.. their luck must run out sometime soon. Come  on Stevie G's  Villa  on Sunday - have a wordly and may the football gods smile on Liverpool FC as Premier League Champions on Sunday evening.

Great win and performance from a much changed side. Worth noting we didnt have VVD, Fab, Thiago, Diaz, Mane, Trent and Salah. Carragher saying he didn’t want to take much away from the goal hence why he didnt call it the blatant foul that it was… idiot.

I couldn't be more proud of them and we've been so fortunate to watch them grow together into a team that's capable of shifting most of its main parts and still come up with a confident win. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to watch these Mentality Monsters, this amazing set of lads, this very special group of players and staff. I couldn't ask any more of them, for they have given, time and again, more than what was expected.
