This is desperately sad news. Rest in Peace, Carl and my love and thoughts to his family. I didn't know him personally, and never really interacted with him on RAWK, but always enjoyed reading hsi posts.

Really really sad this. Condolences to his family and all those who knew him.

I didn't know Carl either in person or on here really. I knew the name Sir Harvest Fields for some reason, but guess we didn't frequent the same topics so our paths never really crossed. Reading on here how much he meant to people prompted me to go into his post history to find out more about him. Starting from his very first post, reading a few, jumping a few dozen pages, reading a few more posts, jumping a few dozen more page, reading a few more posts and on and on. He seemed like such a decent bloke, I can really see why he had such a big impact on people. So nice that thanks to modern technology his personality is preserved and out there for as long as RAWK exists.

Rest in peace Carl.

Stupidly too young. not funny. Really sincerely felt he was going to bag a tying goal in extra time here, take it to a replay. Anything can happen in a replay. It just felt like he deserved it and he was surely putting on a push. Came to see a progress report of some kind.

ah hell. Family and friends, please know that he touched me and made me smile or laugh from thousands of miles away many times. Im very very sorry my condolences to you all.

Im really sorry to be reading this, plus i only just saw this. I was so sure Carl was going to make it and give himself a good chance. Really dreadful news. The internet is a pretty anonymous place but there was something about the honesty, humanity and humour in Carl's posts that always seemed to jump out to me.

For better or for worse, rest and peace are two things that Carl didn't seem to get a lot of in a life he seems to have lived at 100mph (from the way he talked about his bikes maybe literally sometimes!) with a fair few troubles along the way. Whatever comes next, I hope it means that he really can now RIP.

Last time I was with Wooltonian we had a chat about people from RAWK and obviously got around to Carl and he was telling me how good a lad he was in person.

I’ve never spent time with him in person but I’ve been on the phone with him for countless hours and he was so genuine and sincere which makes it so much more sad....

Incredibly saddened by this. Like many others I never actually met Carl, but somehow felt as if I knew him so well from his posts over the years. He had an incredible honesty and freshness and said what he thought without worrying. I hope you can now have peace Carl. RAWK will miss you.

Very sad to hear this. I never met Carl but felt like I knew him, which is the best compliment I can give. I found him to be a humourous and caring man. A man who always offered support to others, despite his own struggles. RAWK, and indeed the world, will be a worse place without him.

Genuine kick to the stomach just now to hear Carl has passed away. Haven't been online much in recent weeks but saw he was in hospital then saw he was getting a little better some days later so was hopeful that when I clicked Liverpool Forum there would be some continued improvement. So sad to see.

He and his family and friends have been in my thoughts alot this week... sincere condolences to you all.

Hi. I've been reading this thread and really thought that Carl would pull through when I saw that he was improving.

Anyway, I just wanted to send his family my condolences. Like others on here, I didn't know Carl personally, but he was such a big character on here and gave us many laughs with with his stories and in particular the Tron memes and all of the other photoshops of him. He was a Rawk legend really and far too young to die.
