Shame we're going to let him go on a free though, rather than biting the bullet and bumping up his wages, which would be a shadow of the loss we will face when we let him go on a free.

Do you know the word If?

Would he be a guaranteed starter at Juventus?

If we had signed Keita he would have had less game time here.

Is Emre Can good enough to start for Juventus? No.

If Lallana was fit and Coutinho didn't want to leave he wouldn't start for us neither.

He can play a part in the season and get a lot of game time as obviously other players can't play every minute. Helps that he is defensive minded and we have only Henderson, himself and Wijnaldum who really play in central mid.

I'd sell him for £25m and buy a defensive beast to go in midfield. People believe he has potential but he won't be a starter in any top team in Europe.

A good utility man describes him best imo.

Squad game - so many games, injuries, he'll get enough games here. He has no worries on that front.

On a free transfer he'll have a list of clubs interested.

Unless his wage demands are properly pie in the sky we need to get that contract nailed ASAP. As he was on the weekend - our best midfielder going forwards and backwards. If we lose him I'm pretty sure we'll regret it massively in a few years.

Thought he was our best midfielder by a mile again. Composed on the ball while displaying real battling qualities too.

Can't for the life of me understand why we threw £100k+ per week on Henderson but were/are reluctant to on this lad. I like Henderson and really hope he can get back to his best, but either way Can's ceiling is a lot higher.

I thought he was pretty good. Lots of good defensive play and challenges. He seems so much more athletic now that he's not playing with injury. Not a perfect fit alongside the other two but he definitely has a place in the squad, and right now, the XI.

Agree with that, him, Mane and Mignolet were our best players.

Henderson didn't look quite fit today, we seemed calmer and more composed after he went off and Can played as the number 6.

Until we have a single midfielder good enough to start for Juventus, I'd say we can drop that argument.

I've got a feeling that Origi is the real deal, from a couple of games I watched but mainly his interviews there seems to be something about him.

“[Speculation is] no problem for us, nobody in the team speaks about that,” he told Viasat Football.

“Of course, if Philippe stays with us everybody is happy. In my eyes, he is one of the best players in the world.

“But if he goes, if he wants to go, then everybody will wish him the best and we have to go again.”

Get that contract sorted for fuck's sake.  Love his confidence on the ball where he'll do a little drag back to get himself out of a tight spot.  He's a leader out there too.

Give him a contract for fuck sake. Why has this even got to this point when lads like Lovren get handed 100k without blinking?

Boss performance. Think he'll excel this season if he has Phil next to him.

He was probably waiting for the CL qualification himself?

I think so. Klopp said post game that this strengthens their hand not just for new players but for contract renewals too.

Part of me thinks if anyone isn't here CL or not they can do one. Anyway we are there now so Edwards better get busy.

Is it possible that Klopps comments about the champions league and players not wanting to extend unless we were in it refer to Can?

Yeah, sounded like it pre-game - "you have to help us too to get in it", or something like that.

I don't know who else, if I'm not forgetting someone it's only Can's contract that's been under scrutiny lately. Hopefully he'll sign it now.
