So I decided that there is a need for more massive hairy spiders in the world so I let mine have some fun:

If you'd launched a coup last night with all your pets in tow there's no way it wouldn't have succeeded.

Would have been more successful compared to the idiots who tried.

Sat on the couch the other night, wife was in bed. She suddenly appears in the living room white as a sheet - Rob, theres a Tranatula in the bedroom. She then stood there at the bottom of the stairs, looking terrified, while I removed this admittedly quite decent sized spider from the bedroom wall.

It's that awful time of year. A huge bastard just ran across the floor and behind the TV. Still feel a bit queasy but luckily the wife is a double hard bastard and took care of it for me. She thinks I'm pathetic but that's a small price to pay to not have to deal with it.

I'd support a spider against a wasp to be honest.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-37481251

A 21-year-old Australian tradesman has been bitten by a venomous spider on the penis for a second time. The man was using a portable toilet on a Sydney building site on Tuesday, when he suffered a repeat of the incident five months ago. Jordan, who preferred not to reveal his surname, said he was bitten on "pretty much the same spot" by the spider.
"I'm the most unlucky guy in the country at the moment," he told the BBC. "I was sitting on the toilet doing my business and just felt the sting that I felt the first time. "I was like 'I can't believe it's happened again.' I looked down and I've seen a few little legs come from around the rim."

Nice choice of phrase

I used to be terrified of spiders. I thought if I got one and always knew where it was, it couldn’t frighten me

She sounds an absolute mentalist. And also the line "Unpacking it after it arrived in the post was terrifying. I screamed at the sight of its enormous red legs."- they are posting spiders about now!

Reasonable sized spider dropped from ceiling (as I watched) next to my cat Lily who was curled up on her bed. Cat jumped from a curled up cozy start about 3ft in the air and legged it pronto. Funniest thing we've seen from the ginger tosser. Ive named him (the spider) Frankie. I quite like spiders. Theyre fascinating creatures.

Wifey made me evict Frankie (but i secretly put him safely in the corner of the spare room).

As soon as I saw that this thread had been bumped I knew it would be this story! Some of the comments are ridiculous too, how blasé do they want to be! Bloody Aussies...."Ah yeah, I have a couple of Huntsmen in the bedroom, they make good guard dogs..."

Giving me flashbacks to my time in Oz. User to wake in the mornings,  or still in the early hours and be paranoid about opening my eyes and looking around for fear of what I may have facing me!

Largest huntsman spider ever in Australia?  Nicknamed Charlotte:

Though the venom from a huntsman spider bite is not usually dangerous to humans, their appearance can be somewhat menacing.

Many of the species grow large, with the leg span of male spiders reaching 12 inches in countries such as Laos.

A staff member from the rescue farm insisted the picture posted on Facebook was not altered.

“I released her here on the farm after rescuing her so I can’t get anymore photos or videos of her,” the worker said.

“She was a beautiful, calm spider, not aggressive in any way and like most spiders she just wanted to go about her business eating bugs and living in peace.”

Huntsman spiders are known to hideout in cars in Australia.

Only days ago, a man in Lake Cathie got a fright when a huntsman hopped onto his arm while he was driving and, instead of slamming on the brakes, he unfortunately hit the accelerator, prompting both him and the spider to plunge into the lake.
